| I am very happy that Marco is ok. My Amy will eat anything that is on the floor. We both know this and are so careful not to drop anything but some times something will go on the floor and then the race between Amy and us is on. She is almost 10 months old now and is beginning to understand what NO means but she does have selective hearing at times. I feel for you and can only hope that Marco will outgrow some of the grabbing everything stage. |

| Gosh! I've heard of bigger dogs swallowing undergarments and socks, but a Yorkie? So glad to hear Marco is okay.

| It is hard on a young active dog to do noting all day while you are gone. You do have to expect a very hyperactive dog when you get home that needs to be walked and played with as soon as possible. To him the time you are gone is like night time so when you get home it is like morning to him. He has a ton of pent up energy. When you get that excess energy dealt with he will be much easier to get along with and not so mischievous. I don't think you said if you left the chew stick with him while you are not at home or not. I do know that a bored dog can chew those sticks down pretty quickly. My girl is 5lbs. I buy her 12" sticks and she never has them when I am not around to keep track of what she is doing. I take them away at about 4" and she can only have them past 6" is I am sitting right there with her. Sorry you had such a bad night at the vet with him. I'm sure he must have felt less ambitious after that incident. Hopefully he will slow down a bit as he gets older but right now exercising him A LOT is your best defense. |

You need to Find your inner Pack Leader voice and take control of the situation before it gets out of hand. If this is just the beginning of what he is capable of doing or eating you need to start like Yesterday !!! I'm so glad that he is ok and it looks like you have some intense training ahead of you.

| Okay, so I do want to make clear that he was not unattended with the bully stick. And also, he was not unattended with things that weren't puppy proofed. It happened so quick, he nudged the bathroom door open, grabbed them, ran to the other room. I followed, and they were gone. I haven't been exercising him much due to his neutering this week, so I do think that is why he is acting out more.. I try to either go on an hour walk or throw the ball in the yard for him everyday. Tonight we went on a walk and he is behaving much better. Last night we worked on "drop it" and he has retained some of that information tonight..... I think its just going to be consistency and resources online because I am just too busy to commit to a puppy class right now. I must say that it is so cute when he gets proud because he knows he did something that I wanted him too.... feeling like a proud mom.... and when I use these all natural chicken training treats his bottom teeth and lip started to shake because he wants it sooo bad.... its hilarious. |
