My brother, who rescues a lot of dogs from the shelter his GF works at, says what worked well for him was to put a bell at the door and then anytime one of his dogs had an accident he would take the dog to the door and hit the bell with a paw. But he said this was with adult dogs. I just wonder if a puppy knows he has to pee in enough time to do that, or if they might just have to go when the feeling strikes. Since Cookie whines and paws at her cage at night when in bed when she has to go out, I lean more towards the former I guess.

At night I've been keeping Lola in an exercise pen, and I always know that she went to the bathroom because she wakes my up by crying, and stops after I give her fresh potty pads. We are in a new place ( the beach) so I'm watching her like a hawk so she ( hopefully) doesn't have accidents.

I want to see more cookie monster!

Cookie saw me eating some carnitas about an hour ago, so she came and kissed me for about 5 minutes straight to get that pork flavor from my mouth I guess lol. She must really have an amazing sense of smell (her nose is always to the ground).

Just wanted to bump this thread to announce my little Cookie Monster's 6 month birthday today, and to say what an amazing (almost) three months it has been so far (thanks Deb!). Cookie is so much fun in playtime, so sweet in cuddle time, and so mischievous occasionally lol.
