| I, for one, am a newbie to this site and many have welcomed me, given me assistance when I needed it and others have answered questions. It's a little scary when you get a new quality puppy. It's even more scary when that puppy turns into a family of TWO for the family. I have learned so much this past month since getting our new puppy. I just want everyone to know that I am more than happy to be a part of this family!

| I am a newbie here as well and just wanted to say that although I have seen a few heated posts, everyone here has been very nice and helpful to me. And when you're mourning the loss of your furbaby, that's very important because you may be a little sensitive. I really appreciate the positive people on this site. I'm happy to be a part of it!

| Yes!!! This is a wonderful place for all of us to talk about our Yorkies!!! I too have learned soooo much from everyone! More now than when I adopted Luigi! Boy, do I wish I knew then what I know now!! And I have all of YT to thank for that!!!! And with as many personalities that we have on here, I think we all get along pretty well. Like a famliy! Familes don"t always get along, but they all have one thing in common! The love for each other!!! And the thing we all have in common here is our Yorkies and our love for them! Lets keep this place the great place it is!!! By remembering the love for our furbabies!!! We only want what is best for them!!!! PS--sorry for rambling!! hehe

| I too consider myself to still be a "newbie" to this site although I'm not new to public internet forums. As others have stated, there are sites out there that one can really get "raked over the coals" for a comment or opinion that differs from the majority on the board. I've learned to do some "lurking" before joining a site that interests me to see if it is a community that can genuinly benefit me and the purpose for which I was "lurking" to begin with. When I got my first Yorkie babie 18 years ago, I knew that I did NOT want to breed so I took the steps to ensure there were no "accidents" and had her fixed. I have done the same with Gabby and now that we are for sure keeping our rescue Gage, he will be going in after the first of the year. Because I made a personal choice not to breed, I have zero knowledge on answering any questions regarding that topic. I read a post the other day (and I'm not trying to offend, just explain) where the poster commented that she had asked for help, had "hits" to it, but no answers. I believe it was Kim who mentioned that there are guests on here who cannot reply. But, there could also be members like me who truly do not have the knowledge to reply with an answer but they are reading the post as it just might also be a question they have as well. That has been the case with me. I may not always reply (as you can tell by the number of my posts) but I do so enjoy reading what others have to say. I truly thought I had done my "homework" on the yorkie breed until I found this place. I have learned so much from all of you, I can't even begin to call you all by name. So to each and everyone of you, a heartfelt thanks for your advice and valuable insight. It is greatly appreciated by me Suzi |

I think most of the people here are very kind and trying to be nice even with sensitive issues. It really takes a caring and loving person to take the time, even on holidays, to try answering questions or just showing support here. So, let's not forget that. Also, I would like to take this chance to thank everyone here. You guys really deserve a big hand. | |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | These are so nice to read a little while ago I was talking to someone about certain subjects and why do they get heated or debated - the one thing that sticks in my mind is.... if we DIDN'T discuss them - then who would ever see them ? so really...some posts may not be all sweet and light - but then again there could be that one person in the world that walks away saying "wow - that was pretty powerful".... and it may stay with them & be remembered when they need it. Many of us tend to get going on certain subjects ...like :Breeding tinies.... and repeat ourselves... alot - but with so many new people reading - some things just need repeating. I even get tired of my own self sometimes but I believe we all have information that may be of use to someone else and will continue to talk on the subjects I can post semi-intelligently on - (is that a word ?) then there's the times I don't sound intelligent at all... but but just want to be in on the fun |

| Mercy me, I owe so much to this site and so much of it is not about my dogs. I love this forum because it has brought some of the most wonderful people into my life. I want to say something about Villette that only one other person knows. My darling little pen pal, whose mom I met on here and I have gotten to know the family, wanted to make something special for me for Christmas. He had asked what I wanted and I told him to MAKE something as my most loved gifts have been made by the giver. His mom contacted Villette over a month ago and she worked with multiple pics and programs and helped my Tiger make the most woderful gift I can ever imagine. I can honestly say that had it not been for Villette, that gift would not have been possible. I know this is not a post about Yorkies but it is about the world this forum has opened up for me and others..Many times if it were not for the members supporting each other we would feel we were alone and no one understood about how we love and miss our Yorkie family members. We are a family of Yorkie lovers and I have never met a family in my life that did not ever have a spat or need to air out a problem... |

| The family here on YT do care about each other. In any family you will have disagreements. It would be a boring and uncaring world if we did not voice our thoughts and concerns. The problem with print is that you can not see the other persons expression or tone of voice when they print. The posting may be of a different thought then yours but no offense is meant. It is just they way the words look in print. Some of us may not choose the right words. Some of us are a little more on the vocal side- others on the mellow side and our words will show that side of us. Some topics are our passion. Everyone has a topic ( not just the ones here on YT) that raise the blood pressure and make you want to debate and make your point. I like to read articles that are pertinent to our topics. I do have problems when members represent a written article as LAW because they have cut and pasted it on the website. For every one of those articles- one can be found that states a different point of view. Some members will cut and paste sections of different articles to make a new article that states their point of view. Wish I could learn to do this cut and paste thing. Do we all do things the same. NO. We all raise our dogs in a individual manner. Some of us let our dog sleep in bed some don't. Some place clothes on the dog some don't. Some ou us show and or breed others don't. Some feed very expensive dog food some don't. Some breed dogs larger then the standard some don't. Some breed little dogs some don't. Some use handlers to show some don't. Some have websites some some don't. Some advertise on the internet some don't. The list can go on and on about the diversity on the website. There is room for all of us. Will I always agree with my best friend on here NO. Do we debate- Oh yea- we go at it on certain topics. We share our thoughts- we argue and we debate. Do we take offense at each other- heavens no. Sometimes I win- Sometimes she has made a good point and she wins. Other times we both say Nah- I am still doing it my way. Good point is that we shared thoughts, ideas and experiences. Things that we might not have know about or thought of before. We both learned from the experience and have a common respect for each other. The thing to remember is that if you are on this website you are here for one reason only- YOUR LOVE AND PASSION FOR THE YORKSHIRE TERRIER. Overall there is more positive then negative. When you make a post asking a question be prepaerd when you ask for a honnest answer. You will get many- some you will like some you won't. You asked for our thoughts and we are giving them to you. If we did not care we would not respond. If you did not care you would not have asked. |

| Thank you Villette for saying everything you just said!!! I am new to this chat site and I hope to be a member for a very long time into the future. I am learning SO MUCH here and we all have the same thing in common, our love for our dear yorkies. That should be our loving guide to all that is said regardless of how we say it. In the end it is for our pets that we are here, not just ourselves. I have been to other yorkie chat sites and this one is by FAR the best one there is out there............... God Bless you and Happy New Year.
