| ![]() I took Kricket for her first haircut to PETSMART! We had not been in Alberta that long and the gal that had done Gizmo was quitting(too many hours too many years and wanted a life)! So my hubby says PETSMART! Kricket is only 3 pounds full grown... So really little at time of first hair cut... The experienced gal was not there so she had some 'newbie' doing her cut.. I got a call from them asking where my husband was (we lived an hour away from Edmonton and add another half to stores) as there was an issue with Kricket! She was misbehaving... I guess she must of been really uncontrollable as the girl cut her and she needed stitches! When my hubby got there to sort out the mess and the HYSTERICAL message I had left on his cell... All he could say is " You are so lucky Kricket's mom is not with me!"WTF! She was at a vet I did not know and getting stitches... Yeah PETSMART! Been over six years and still mad! |

| ![]() Yeah, Banfield is responsible for most (if not all) vaccine statistics being sent to the government... don't know what their payoff is, but their thinking is 'the more, the better'. As for most regular vets, although we seem to be a large group here, I don't believe the average vet sees too many Yorkies on a regular basis. At the ER Vet where I worked, I think I saw maybe 10 in 10 years (granted I did not work 24/7). Even at my vet now, my Biewer is listed as a Yorkie, not bc of their ignorance, but bc the PC software only lists AKC recognized breeds, which the Biewer is not... yet. Quote:
Parvo is a deadly virus dogs and puppies can get, sometimes it is treated successfully and the dog survives. Until you're sure about her vaccine status, best to limit the walks to your yard and no socializing with others, to play it safe.
