| YT 1000 Club Member | OH, I have a funny story to tell... Just last week, I took My newest Male Ichabod for a followup shot at the Vets. He was bounding around in the waiting room, sniffing and greeting people as they passed, THEN... A couple came out of one of the Exam Rooms, with a Great Dane. It looked like an older animal, and was not on a leash. It walked up to me as I was sitting on the bench, and looked me right in the eyes it was so tall. Then it looked down and sniffed Ichabod (nose to nose) who immediately plopped down on his but, and was still as a Rock. I reached out (properly) to greet the big guy, who was just a calm and proper as it could be. One of it's owners came over quickly (for no reason from my point of view) and apologized for the intrusion. I of course told her that there was no problem. Anyway, the instant the Dane turned and left, Ichabod jumped up in my lap, and sat there patiently until we were called in. It was the most well behaved moment, I've ever seen from him.

| YT 1000 Club Member | HA, you're probably right... In our normal routes along the Bayou and neighborhood, Ickey's never seen another Dog larger than about 25 lbs or so. That Dane was about 150-160 lbs, and totally a beautiful animal. Save for my like of smaller animals, I'm jealous.

| Three of my four are very fearful and just want to be held. Adie, however, is the little social butterfly until she sees the needle. Then all bets are off and she wants Mama! LOL. Our vet just hides the needle and sneaks up on her now. |

He doesn't want anyone ohhing and ahhing over him lol, that would make it worse. He prefers not to be doted on by strangers. He also won't typically take food in that state of mind. I even had a mcdonald's hamburger once and I put a tiny piece in my pocket in the wrapper and he wouldn't take it until we were alone and the appt was mostly over.

I guess ever since then he's been that way... I have no way of knowing how he was treated when he had to stay overnight at a different vets. I am still mad at myself for allowing it, when I now think it wasn't necessary and probably just set him back more. I will say the only place that I picked him up from and he hadn't expressed his anals was the dental center I took him to. They were fabulous. But our regular vet is great too, and he still is just so scared. Like I said he behaves and lets them do whatever to him, but just deathly scared. But he does seem to know that they are there to help.

| Sorry to hear your pup has a hard time visiting the vet. Calleigh loves to ride in the car, and she also gets all excited when we arrive at the vet. I am very fortunate I know. We moved and she has always liked each vet we have gone to.

| 2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Quincy is fine until its time to get on the scales than he goes into fright mode. Than he tries to head for the hills when we go toward the exam room door. The girl are fine !

| Teasell is a trooper. She is very outgoing at the vet and any other place. She's never met a stranger she doesn't like. The groomers love her even if she is a bit wiggly but she just wants to love on everyone |
