Along with always wanting to know why, I am a very optimistic person. Believe me, I'm not saying breeders should start breeding for "teacups". I'm just saying it's not uncommon for the average person to see a smaller pup and think "teacup". I know the millers and BYBs have destroyed that name so 9/10 it probably will forever be destroyed. And relevant or not I am curious as to what yorkies under 4lbs were referred to before they changed the standard. Because according to the AKC website "standard" was 4-7lbs. Someone, not knowing about that the YTCA sets the rules, could easily see that and think oh my puppy is under 4lbs that must mean they are a teacup. So idk maybe AKC needs to change their site then because in my opinion that is showing that smaller yorkies don't fit into the standard. |
