| ![]() I'm actually surprised to see that people believe only one exam fee should be charged for two dogs. Double the fet's time to examine, double time to type upnrecords, double time for tech to run around getting things ready, double time for assustants to restrain, double time to think about what is going on, etc. They should charge for both. That said, my vet doesn't always charge for exams and when she does it is often billed as Minor.

| ![]() It sounds high to me. Barney was neutered and had his dew claws removed last week. Total cost was $105. |

I too felt like the emergency vet we used a few months ago tried to "rape'' us. Telling us she needed to do test on my pregnant female that needed a C-section. The test were an ultra sound, x rays, blood work among others. She estimated the bill at $2400. We had $1000. put away for an emergency. When I told her we didn't have that much money she said to use care credit. Well they turned us down for $1000, credit. We have not used credit for 15 years. So I told her all I wanted was the C-section. What do you know it was $1000...just what I told her we had in the bank. This was an emergency vet on a Sunday night. Our regular vet. only charges $500. for a C-section. We live in a tiny little town but the emergency vet is in a big city. | |
