A dog training class might help if you have one of those. You need to teach her to come as well. You need to teach her the stay command and then after she has it down really good with the leash on you need to try it while the door is opening. That is what we did with my dogs. You also in the mean time might need to find a free standing dog gate that is able to bend and set up a half circle around the door so in order to go out the door you have to open or step through the gate then open the door. You probably also need to have a talk with you kids and say if you are not very careful watching the doggy when you go out the door she could get out and get hit by a car and we wont have her anymore.

I have four children and I have taught them to look before they open a door.
Im not putting pens in front of my door so its the best way for us. It took repetition just like with dogs but I told my kids if she gets out and gets hurt how will you feel? I also have alarm bells on the doors so they beep if someone opens the door.

I also have door dashers, so I feel your pain! My boys have been trained not to run past the door threshold, but will "forget" when it suits them. DH and I have invested in several "shock mats" purchased originally (before the boys) to keep our kitty from destroying the foam weather stripping around the doors. These mats DO NOT injure, just "tingles" the feet, and gets their attention quickly! Both Neo and Connor have stepped on these mats ONCE and have never done it again! They will not cross or jump over, but WILL sit in front of it and bark. I know some here will disagree with our method, but it has kept our babies safely inside without incident for the past four years!
