| Interesting... Any thoughts?? CharlieBrown has NEVER enjoyed riding in the car. he always pants heavily and shakes and puts out this obnoxious odor (poor thing) anyway so today I went outside and was working in the yard and decided to go and get some lunch, well he raced to the door and acted like he wanted to go too so I hooked him up and put him in the car. Now here is the odd part.... he seemed happy no panting no shaking and obnoxious odor he even looked out the window several times. he seems to enjoy it so much I just kept driving around went spent like an hour or more just driving. Could he just be over it? just not scared anymore? it was so nice I was so happy he wasn't scared but it was just so odd. Now because i know someone is going to ask, the only change that has been made is that today he was put on prednisone for his allergies, but that is it nothing else and I doubt that did anything. So any ideas?

| I know prednisone can amp a dog up, like it did Tibbe. But you'll know for sure if he's still fine with the car after he's off the drug. Hopefully he's just over his car fear.

| It's not easy driving and trying to calm a pet down. Mine acts like Charlie in the car, has since we brought her home. I did get her a car seat that sits up high so she can see out, that's helped a little. I'm hoping he's over his fear. Let us know if he is.

| Well in the past Charlie hasnt been a real active pup in the car, he would just sit there and look pitiful with the panting and all I would just talk to him telling him how handsome he was and what a good boy he was but it made no difference talking to him but today he sat there and looked out the window it was like an entirely different dog. it would be grest if he was over the fear I dont take him with me often because of it, I dont want to stress him .

| Maybe he associated being caught and placed in the car as a prequel to bad things like a vet visit but since he asked to go for a ride today, he knew nothing bad was gonna happen at the end of the ride? Maybe I am attributing too much reasoning skill to a dog, but yorkies are so smart...

| My thought was the same - Maybe because he wasn't made to go and initiated the drive along he knew he was safe? Little angels are so smart

| I'm still struggling with the whole car sickness thing too..omg..never had a dog so afraid of the car. Wallee will be excited to go, but, when the car starts to move the shaking begins. I have tried crate, seatbelted on the seat, and even now have a snoozer car seat. Nothing works. He will shake, whine and eventually throw up. I am going to try the rescue remedy and see if that helps. It is so stressful and upsetting to see them go through this. |

| Happy again Well Charlie and I went for another ride today. it started out just going to get his nails trimmed and he wasnt panting so I thought we would try another ride. he sat happy as a clam with the A/C on his face it is so strange after all this time to have him enjoy the car. Maybe he just grew out of it

| Glad he is riding for fun now. It's fun being able to take them for a drive.
