| Were you looking for a member of the family or were you looking for a complimentary sized canine to look good against the dog you adore? Open your heart and love prevails everytime. I wish you luck. Welllllll, we were looking for a new member of the family, as much as a companion for Angus. I love the breed and have known since I was quite young that I wanted a Yorkie. My research sealed it. Along came Angus, and when his friends next door moved I must admit that we all missed them. Piper was not just to be a buddy for Angus - she was to be a new member of the family - to do all the family activities (including hiking, which Angus at 4 lb is incredible at! and with the looks of the energy in Piper, we may have to pick up the pace a bit!). And yes, I did get the vet papers showing her first shots and deworming. |

| ![]() I have a 5 1/2 lb and a 6 1/2 lb yorkie and I also have a 15 lb. mutt who absolutely adores the yorkies. We have had until recently a 80 lb golden who played with them all the time and we never had any injuries. I don't think the size matters as much as the temperment of the dog. I think you will do just fine. By the way, I got my yorkies at six weeks, years ago when that was considered the norm. Nobody thought any different at that time. They managed just fine. I think it is better if they stay with the mom longer but it certainly isn't a rare thing to get a puppy at that age. We all live and learn! |

Esme's BEST friend and favorite playmate is a tiny chi named Lucy. Lucy is 4lbs and looks so fragile. Esme is TWICE her size. Let me tell you, even though Esme is double Lucy, they play VERY well together!!! I really don't think your dogs have to be the exact same size to play together... My inlaws have an ENORMOUS boxer, and Esme plays with her too!!! Please don't let size discourage you from keeping this pup!

| ![]() I have an 85lb lab that plays wonderfully with my 5 1/2 lb yorkie. They are the best of friends. She is very gentle with him. I honestly don't think that if she is a few lbs larger than the one you have now that it will make a whole lot of difference. They should get along great.
