| How much Benadryl should I give my puppy? Ok I don't know if you read my recent thread but my puppy has been intching all day long. I took him to the vet and he said give him Benadryl liquid for kids. Now I just cant find that prescription paper to save my life. I am pretty sure he said 1ML but I am not sure ! Omg this has been a terrible day!! How much should I give him? At least so he can sleep a little. He's been so desperately itching all day the poor thing and I am a wreck :[

| You might want to consult your pup's vet. I had a similar issue, so I called my baby's vet. She pulled out his chart, gave me a dosage (just to give him immediate relief) and scheduled a vet visit. Turns out his itching was not allergies. The dosage she gave me did not hurt him but it turned out to not be the best thing for him.

| I am sure it depends upon the weight of your puppy. My 6 year old weighs 5 pounds. They prescribed 5 mg for her every 8 hours. I haven't given it to her yet. Her scratching is not that bad. She came from a shelter and they are guessing she is still having an allergic reaction to flea bites. Although she doesn't have any fleas. |

| I would wait until morning when you can call your vet's office and confirm the correct dosage.

| You're probably going to think I'm a bad mom when you read this. Kaji had something prickly stuck in his coat. he has a thick soft coat which was long at that time. It was I believe it's called a fox tail that was poking him. I didn't see it at all and the brush didn't catch it. That's how I learned its best to keep Kaji in a short haircut.
