I found the tiny alligator clips for children. I actually had to go up a size as the 1st ones I tried were too small. Today, I am trying another clip. I still like the scrunchies the best, but they seem to be causing hair breakage, and that concerns me. This clip today is fine for a while, but a couple of good head shakes and it is out. Sigh... My admiration goes out to those who aare able to keep their babies hair up and healthy. Huey is really used to having it pulled back now, though, because I took the clip out earlier today and he flipped it down over his eyes and just looked pitifully at me until I pulled it back up. Silly dog...

I was afraid of that. I have tried all of those and they all come out. Adie's hair is so fine! Her topknot is half out before we even get her home from the groomer.
The only thing that has helped is growing the topknot long and using those bands I mentioned. I will always put a bow or barrette in too so she is double covered. LOL

He looks great. It is a work in progress to keep the top knot in. As soon as I get in it I usually play with his favorite toy. Try to distract him. I love to hear about others trying to do the same thing. I gives me encouragement that some day it will stay in lol

Latest thing I have tried is braiding his hair. That actually seems to hold better with less damage to the hair than anything else I have tried, but I am catching flack from folks who say we are starting to look alike. (Jokingly...) so, if Huey and I have the same hair style, is that bad?
Also, I don't know if I can make it until his visor grows out. I almost cut it yesterday when I trimmed his length over 1", and I almost cut it today when I did his topknot. Poor thing has to hold his head way up to see out from under his hair!

Thanks! I think the braid is funny since that is how I wear my hair. His Daddy calls him his hippie dog when it is braided. As for the walk, we tried that this morning. I was sweating like a pig and thought I was gonna have a heart attack by the time I got to the top of the hill that is my road (Both directions, straight up...). I have to drive to a flat area to walk him. I am too fat and outta shape to do that d**n hill. Of course, it would help my fat, outta shape self if I DID the hill regularly...

I love your matching braids! I'm having a tough time too finding good hair clips. As for the hills, you are in the right location for them, LOL. Just a tiny bit hilly where you are.

I'm not much of a walker and we have pretty flat roads.
