| I knew it was coming My DH has been talking about making flight arrangements to go to Florida for a week in June. When he was talking about it I was trying not to panic because I knew we would not be able to take the girls on this trip. I don't want to go but that isn't fair to him. He just called and wants to go ahead and book the flights. How can I board my two sweeties for 5 days? How will I enjoy myself? How will they do without me? I live about 10 minutes from a good dog boarding facility and am going to stop by there next week to look at it. I just want to throw up thinking about them not being able to go with us. I knew the time would come when it wouldn't be practical for them to go but I didn't want to think about it. Having someone come to my house isn't the ideal situation for me and I don't have any family that live close that I can depend on. How will I survive 5 days?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm no help either. I couldn't leave my babies behind and have a good time. Maybe the boarder will turn out to be better than you think. Does your vet board if that would make you feel better?? You poor thing. I hope it all works out. Its hard to be a mom...

| I couldn't leave mine either....maybe you can hire a professional pet sitter or have a friend stay at your home.

| My DH said I would have to stay home from our last FL trip (couple weeks ago) because Princess Sophie is still a puppy and not yet potty trained. Fooled him, have a church friend who works at our vets who took both our dogs in. Do you have any church friends?

| We understand. We take very few over night trips. I don't mind very much though, I am a real homebody.

| It would really be better to get someone to come in! When I boarded my two in a very good facility over a long Thanksgiving Weekend I ended up at the vets. They both developed stress colitis! They miss me when I am gone but do fairly well if they stay at home where everything is familiar to them. Good luck! |

| I board Lexie several times a year. Just have to find the right place you feel confident about. Of course I miss her like crazy, but I trust this facility. She even plays with the small dogs, which she NEVER otherwise does. Lexie can get stress colitis, but only does when i am sick. Boarding has worked really well. I think some dog owners stress over this more than the dogs do.

| Jess is being boarded for 4 days coming up at the end of the month with her vet. I wish she had a sister or brother going with her. You should feel confident knowing they have each other. One of my neighbors who travels alot boards her dog with a couple whos whole life is the dogs. She swears shes happier when she gets to go. Its like a vacation for them...like you said, you need to make DH happy too...so please enjoy your time, even if its for him. they will be fine... |

| It's coming for me TOO!!! I know exactly what you mean. I am boarding mine for the 1st time in less than 2 weeks. She will be at my Vets office and I am very nervous. Probably the best place I can leave her. She will do better than me as long as she gets her play time. That's all she seems to care about right now and doesn't matter who it's with as long as they play with her. She'd rather be with another pooch. I am trying to tell myself that it will be a good experience for her. Hope I'm right!!! I too am going to Florida. I should be looking forward to this trip but I can't help but worry about all of my babies. My Yorkie is the only one being boarded because she is so small and such a hand full. Gosh I hate to leave them!!

My vet watches mine when I'm on vacation etc! I think of all the tragedies I read about on here when folks are traveling, I know things can happen anytime anywhere, but I will never take mine with me if they can't be with me 24/7 again...just won't. Go with Hubby and have a great time!
