Well that is good to hear, I probably worry needlessly but have heard so many stories about people that give a puppy up because it got bigger, or was more hyper or shed, and so forth that I really want people to understand that when buying a mix so young none of us can really predict how the pup might develop. I bet the pup will be great, but when you seemed so hopeful to see yorkie in him I was afraid, that if you did not you might be disappointed, but from what you just posted it sounds like you will be happy just to have a pup, and that is so great to hear

It doesn't even read like that.. I would never suggest getting rid of the doggie. I meant she can only afford one dog for now. So enjoy your one dog until you can have two doggies. That one day she will be able to have the yorkie of her dreams. And I quote "give this dog a little brother or sister" to play with.

No. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. That did come out very wrong! You can be rest assured that he will have a forever home with me. He is adorable and although he will not always have that little puppy face I can tell he will be beautiful. what I meant to say is sooner or later we can always add a yorkie to our family as well so Bently can have a playmate. I would never ever use a puppy until I could get another Breed. I'm so sorry for the confusion. Like I said as soon as I get him I know thst I will be inlove

no problem these chat forums can easily get confusing, I hope you know I have nothing against your choice in pups, I just wanted you to go into it eyes wide open since it is a long term commitment. I spent a lot of money on my pup prior to Lola, I hate to admit it but I sort of knew from day one that this was not the right puppy for me, but I thought I was crazy, that I could make it work, when in fact I should have returned him, but I was stubborn

Sometimes dogs that are just being given away can cost you more money because they don't know if there dogs had a history in there lines
(like parent and grandparents) for genetic illness and I'm guessing the breeder didn't do genetic and health test on the dogs she breed. A puppy can seem perfectly healthy for a long time and then wham they show symptoms of a genetic illness and can cost you thousands of dollars just to diagnose and more to take care of it. It is just something to think about when money is an issue.

Taylor is correct in her post above, often when you get a pup from an opps or a breeder that does not health test the health of the pup is a crap shoot. I did not know Lola's past so I spent a bunch of money on blood work and other tests before really giving my heart to her. I had the tests done the day after I picked her up and the results shortly after. To me the $200.00 I spent was well worth it.

I don't mean to be nosy but can I ask what kinda test you did? Like just health stuff of like genetic stuff?

I had a full blood work panel done, where they checked kidney and liver functions and anything else that could be tested with blood work, I wanted one of those BAT tests, but the vet said it was not necessary since her blood work was normal. I also had a general x ray done of the chest area, which again the vet said I did not need but I pushed for. I had the blood work done again the following year. And I kept trying to get the vet to look really closely at her heart since she pants hard while playing, vet said I did not need to worry, but LOL after a year on YT I keep waiting for the shoe to drop. I do think the blood work is a good idea since now I know what is normal for Lola and plan to repeat this every year in the spring.

I had my first test done the day after I picked her up and was fully prepared emotionally to take her back if I did not get good results. I have a neighbor that bought a morkie from her friend and it had pretty bad liver shunt right out of the gate, so like you said a cheap puppy can get pretty expensive, but then so can a pound puppy. Of course even with the numerous tests I had for Lola things can still go wrong
