Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() Just woke up to check all the replies...it's so nice to know other people feel the same way I do.... my husband (who's a "tuff" man) comes home and Greets Izzy sometimes before me. But that's ok because it so cool to see how much he loves her too.. As we speak she's sleeping right smack between us all snugly warm ![]()

| ![]() I felt like that about my precious little, almost 13 yo, mini-Schnauzer that I lost Sept 15, 2012. She was 12 wks old when we got her. She was my best friend & darling little buddy. I never thought I could own another dog, b/c the loss of her was so very painful but it was the strangest thing. Within just a few weeks of losing her, I had the opportunity of rescuing two different little dogs (at different times) almost in my front yard (another story) but I was able to get them back to their owners. Then, just a few weeks later, a good neighbor had to rehome her 3 yo Yorkie & asked if I wanted her. At that time I still couldn't accept another dog. Shortly thereafter, a good friend of mine found a beautiful smaller dog in his yard which he tried to give me. I sitll couldn't even think about it. Within a few weeks of that incident, another good friend of mine told me about Milo, a 3 yo, 7 lb Yorkie up for adoption at one of our local doggie daycare & rescue centers. I'm so happy to say that Milo is now mine. All of that to say this: he is an absolute angel, smart, sweet, well behaved, house trained & I'm so glad that I changed my mind about getting another pet! I believe the old saying "It's better to have loved & lost than never to have loved at all". Sorry---didn't mean to write a book. |

| ![]() When my 15 year old Shih Tzu died I was never going to have another dog. I have had dogs since I was a very small child so I guess it was not a realistic expectation. I just did not think I was up to training another dog because I had just had a serious back injury. Anyway, after several months of a life without a dog I was in serious withdrawals! Now Gracie lives much the same life as your dog does. She is only 2 years old but I do think of how fast the time goes by for a dog. I guess we just have to make the best of it while enjoying and appreciating them for as long as we can. |

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() OMG.....your story is so similar to mine! Our 3 sleep with us, go on vacation, are rarely left alone (stay at home grandma), I told my vet the same thing! We all know how you feel.....these lil balls of fluff are such a joy to be around. We have 3 of the most cuddly, lovable, adorable pups that always want to be with us. We have been blessed with such amazing yorkies and they are our "children".....people joke that they can tell, I am an empty nester because my girls are always with me, tucked under my arm! I take them to preschool, into stores, relatives homes, camping and vacations. I have yet to have someone tell me to leave with my pups. When went to Petco last night to get dog food and people just marvel how sweet they are! It is rather hard, sometimes to get done what you have gone to do with all the attention they bring! LOL I do understand how you feel about saying goodby some day....It is the most difficult experience to go through! I held my little girl of 10 years as she took her last breath. I cried for days and am crying as I write this. Just love them.....

| ![]() I definitely know what you are going through and it is not stupid. My beloved Keally was the love of my life. I even had a necklace made of her and professional portraits taken of her. My husband and I lived our life around her and she was a special baby. I have tears talking about her but we did lose her at 12 1/2 years old and we were devastated words can not explain the pain. I did meet a wonderful breeder here on YT and she gave me life back in six months after Keally passed. Now Kinder is the love of our life and we have those feelings all over again. It is so hard to lose them but my motto is love them everyday, hug them and treasure them. Enjoy your baby everyday and remember you are a wonderful mom. Susan |

| ![]() Lol you don't sound silly at all, I think all true yorkie lovers or animal lovers feel the same way:-) these are our babies they become part of the family, when they're sick we worry and nurse them back to health. I have two babies and they sleep with me, they actually take over the pillows on my bed, it's the cutest thing ever and I love it. I must admit they're SPOILED ROTTON.... I enjoy every moment with them, although my Dolce has big dog syndrome.. Lol |

| ![]() You've experienced true love with a dog, and it's like nothing else! Anyone who hasn't just won't get it, and you really can't explain it. I adopted Lexie at 5 1/2, and she'll be 10 in a month. Where does the time go?! I think about her passing, but never dwell on it, as it's inevitable. I don't have children, but if I did, I can't imagine loving them more than I do this dog. Just can't help it! ![]() They are treasures, and the pain we feel when they pass is only a reflection of how much they were loved and loved us. Your Izzy has the sweetest face and 'old soul" eyes! Enjoy her!! ![]()

| ![]() I have the same fears... I think about the day my guys won't be licking my toes when I step out of the shower, bringing me their favorite toy again and again to chunk down the hallway, curling up in my neck while I watch tv, running to me all excited for a treat after going potty, trying to attack the mailman through the front window.... All these little things I take for granted.... All these things I know I'll desperately someday miss!! My little furry kids, my best friends.... All we can do is cherish each and every minute... Love them and live in the now, and not worry about tomorrow!! My little Mack has taught me that! So, no... You don't sound stupid at all! ![]()

| ![]() You sound just like me from the moment I first laid eyes on my first Yorkie, Scotty, at just 10 weeks old back years ago. I'd owned and rescued many dogs before but when I got Scotty - he was so different from other dogs. He was interested in me - only me - and took special pains to separate himself from the other dogs to just be with me, follow me and care for me. He would give me "hugs" by stretching his tiny 3 lb. body across my neck when I was lying down and holding himself there for a few seconds and then getting up and kissing me. He would do that all of the time, just as soon as I lay down. I soon decided it must be his breed that made him so different - and it was. I have been in love with the Yorkshire Terrier ever since. They are the most personal dog you can get! They really put their all into loving and pleasing their special person and make you wish all dogs were just like them. Not that I'm not nuts over any and all dog breeds but there is just something about a Yorkie!
