| I'm brand new & so is "Willow" I am so new to all this....didn't know what a "Thread" was...why is it called that? At any rate I am sooooo happy with my little (1lb 4oz) yorkie named "Willow". She's my very first yorkie ever. She is precious...will only get to be about 3lbs...she's 10 wks old and I've had her for 1 wk today. House training it a slow go but I know it's going to take a lot of patience which I have since I don't work. Any suggestions??? I want to train her to go outside. When I take her outside and tell her to go potty I think she interperts it as go party.....she runs and plays like crazy!! Which I love but wish she would "potty" too. The few times she has I praise her and give her a treat. I read all the info on this site which is VERY helpful. I really appreciate having found this website. Looking forward to many years of being a part of it. |

"go party", i love that welcome and congrats on your new baby.. she sounds like a spunky little girl. i think just keep doing what you doing she will get it . just may take a few months . just be careful about taking her anywhere but your backyard until she at least 16 weeks and has had all her vax .. | |

| Hi and Welcome!! Congrats on your baby Willow- I would watch her, try to know her pee and poo schedule. When you see her smelling around the house, that usually is the sign she is going to pee or has to.. then you take her out and tell her to pee and don’t leave till she does. Then when she does reward her with something yummy!! It takes time and patience, but it can be done.

| Hi and welcome to YT! Would love to see pics of Willow Yes, remember that she is really little right now so she will need to pee and poo every couple of hours probably. Hang in there and be consistent. She'll get it. Don't get too frustrated though - Yorkies have a tendency to be a little harder to potty train than other breeds.

| Welcome to you and tiny Willow. Well if you don't want her pad trained at all, then I'd suggest putting up an expen or some other type of really small fenced area where you could just put your chair, sit down and just wait for her to potty without much room for her to run around, then praise and let her out to play. If she has a larger area she may be just too busy exploring to want to potty, plus by keeping her in a small pen till she does, it's easier to immediately praise her up close so she knows what it's all about.

| I'm talking about putting the expen up "outside". Sorry I didn't make it clear.
