|  The only good thing that came out of Asplundh mutilating my yard and trees yesterday is that I have a better view of the surroundings..I feel a little better about watching for the birds of prey. Too bad those darn owls around here are so quiet.

| It is very much against the law to kill a hawk. My dh sat on a grand jury a while back that indited a man for doing so, but scaring them with a little noise from the gun is not against the law if you live in the country. They do frown on gunfire in the city limits though lol.

| We have hawks here too. One came and took a squirrel. Hubby thought it was Myah and ran after the hawk. Thankfully, Myah was in the house. I thought hubby was having a heart attack, until he saw her in the house. After that, we hung CDs from our clothes line and put sparkly pinwheels all around our fence. We haven't seen the hawks over our house since. I'm still really careful when letting them out. |
