| My Tibbe does this a lot but not always. He's getting much more independent as he gets more confident and proud of himself for all of the things he has learned in our training sessions and all of the praise and rewards he gets from me. It's pretty routine for little dogs like Yorkies to do this - I wouldn't worry about it unless he gets scared or cries when he's left alone and it is honestly starting to stress him to be separated. If you want to make your little one less dependent, we can give you some pointers of some things to do that will give him more self-assurance and independence.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I know everyone says the males attach to the female of the house and vice versa. But at my house it is totally opposite. Max is DH's buddy and the girls are forsure my companions! Teeka is my shadow and Tatiana will not even let anyone hold her without squirming, except me!Teeka sleeps beside me curled up in the crook of my arm and Tatiana sleeps on my pillow. They share my lap, too. They play together but want me when it is time for a nap! I don't mind and I just love them to pieces!

| If my loved ones locked me up and left for a time frame I was unsure of I do believe I would be quite needy when they came back as well! Gracie hates to see us leave. She always gives us the sad eyes when we head for the door. I always talk to her and tell her to mind the house while we are gone. She does the puppy dance when we get home and, yes, she does expect to be properly greeted when we arrive. I don't think that is needy. She is just glad we are home and wants some attention. I sit down for a couple of minuets and let her lick my face and I give her belly rubs, then we go about the day.....with her "helping" me with everything I do. That is why I have a dog. They don't just disappear when we don't want them around and appear when we do happen to think of them. She thinks she is part of the family and I wouldn't want it any other way. |

When I'm home, my boys will follow me everywhere and try to entice me to play a lot. Before Max turned 2, he was like Jasper and didn't want to let me watch tv or do things on the computer. My boys are now 3 and 4 years old and they will go off on their own in the house more, but they always keep on eye on me so that don't miss anything exciting.

| Huey is more attached physically to me. As soon as dh comes home from work, he jumps to the top of the recliner and stares at his daddy adoringly until he gets attention; then my velcro dog is back on my hip. He constantly seeks attention, bringing toys, one after another, to either me or dh until we play with him. Dh makes fun that whenever I am in the shower, Huey is laying on the bath mat. He will stack toys on my slippers, so when I get out of the shower, I am ready to play (or so he thinks...) If ignored long enough, he will settle down but must be physically touching me. I just now took this pic. I am on the sofa and Huey is up against my leg. There is about 2-3 hours when he is alone daily, and he is just torn up about it when I get home, dancing around on his back feet, sometimes doing the high pitched yelp that says "Where were you? I've been alone forever!!!" Bless it...no sense of time...

| If you had asked me before yesterday, I would have said no way. But we went off for an overnight stay for a family member's wedding on Friday night. Sam stayed with my mom and his sister. When I went to pick him up Saturday night, he met me at the door. He glued himself to me until about 1:30 a.m. yesterday morning when I put him in his pen. He was a good boy and let me sleep til 8 yesterday, but once I got up, I couldn't move an inch without him right beside. If I went to the laundry room, he sat beside the baby gate and cried til I came back in. If I went out on the porch to smoke, he sat on the back of the couch where he could see me. And when I sat down, he was right THERE. I couldn't even hold the laptop because he would worm his way in between it and my belly and lay across my arms if I tried to type. If one of the girls tried to sit next to me, he was up on my shoulder giving me kisses. He was sooo jealous!
