| Two Yorkies better then One???? Hi Everyone, - It's been awhile since i posted, but I knew where to come for any questions regarding yorkies. I have had me female yorkie now for a year, and I really want another one. I'm thinking about getting a male only because I was told they will get along better. Any input why two yorkies are better ththen one, or maybe why I'm better of with just one? Any input would be appreciated. Thank You - Kim

| Hi: Desi turned one year old on Dec. 2nd, and on Dec. 13th I got me 2nd little girl. Millie is only 13 weeks old and so far they are getting along. Desi thinks she's her mother and is happy to have company. I guess it depends on your Yorkie's but I am so glad I bought Millie.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | with two females, you're going to have the alpha dog syndrome and, God forbid, have to deal with bitch fights...same with males. However, to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, you may want to get her spayed if she isn't already. Also, with male, you'll have to deal with leg hiking and marking. bitch fights may not be true in every case but is something that CAN happen.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree on the alpha girls - While mine don't fight - Chanel is DEF Miss Boss-Girl (she's the oldest and was here first) but when she gives Cheri the business ...(usually only over a toy) - They always kiss ....it's tooo cute - but I heard females can get a little scrappy.... I LOVE HAVING 2 yorkies and it was the best decision we made back when we got Cheri - They play together - spy together and pretty much are glued together at the hip...wherever I am - both of them are always right by my side.....I can't imagine my life without either of my babies....and they're just a joy to watch and love. |

Is that the same as what we have on YT? Sorry, I couldn't resist but for whatever it is worth and maybe it has something to do with neutering as everyone in my house including me (not by choice) is neutered but the boys will really get into it over a toy, the girls will get into it over their special places. Does it make a difference if they are from the same litter?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! IT can get a little um.....'Feline' sometimes ? hehe - funny girl - I guess we have to remember most of the B-Fights are usually in the best interests of the yorkies and passion does bring out emotions. |

| I agree twos just so much fun I got Alfie 1st then when he was 18 months old , Lottie arrived all 800grams of her sorry dont know hat that is in pounds but she was tiny and I worried how Alfie would react to her but he adores her even though she runs around chasing him all day they have so much fun and he is eating a lot better now as well he was so picky but now is doing great. My vet said that it was best to have a male and a female it would be less trouble . and I think you get the best of both worlds. Good Luck |
