| Instead of Pet Insurance I found this... Optimum Wellness Plans - Pet Health Plans for Dogs & Cats by Banfield Pet Hospital and there is one 45 minutes away from me. I still need to researh more but was wondering if anyone has used them?? and how they feel it works out. I think this might be a wonderful alternative to paying for monthly pet insurance if it is as it states it is.

| I haven't used them. I remember reading a lot of negative reviews on Banfield but not sure if it would include the Wellness Plan..?

| Wellness plan is nothing like insurance. It only cover routine precedures, and no emergencies, that's why it's called "wellness". Only covers shots, spay/neuter, etc, will not cover genetic conditions such as LP surgery. Even some insurance won't cover that so it's important to read the fine print. Wellness plan saves you money if you have a puppy, and plan to give every single shot and booster that they want to inject into your baby.

| I would never use Banifeld. They do not have a good reputation and a wellness plan is basically worthless over the lifetime of your pet.
