| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Yes, air conditioning is safe for Yorkies. Some Yorkies, especially smaller ones, like to have the warmth of a blanket or clothing.

| My girl hates cooler temperatures. She either hides under a blanket or I put her warm pajamas on her. Just make sure she has some way to get warmed up. They don't have a warm under coat like other dogs. |

| Thanks Maximo and Gracielove, I've put blanket for her and she likes to sleep on top of my tummy idk why sometimes I get cramps cuz I can't move but I love it with her sleeping on my tummy.. One more thing is it better to buy her a friend or not? She's 4 now and she doesn't like to interact with other dog. If I get another one will the smaller ones get bullied? |

| My two will crawl under the covers with us if they are cold. Sometimes during the winter, my two wear pajamas. I added a second yorkie when my male was 2 and they love each other... If you think your pup doesn't like interacting with others, I would think twice about adding another.

| On the other hand, Sophie has a very thick cottony coat and her problem is getting too hot. She keeps moving around all night to a new "cool" spot and she is never under the covers. We keep a ceiling fan on 24-7.

| My Nikkie does't like to be under covers either, but surely like to sleep on covers, she loves it when I pulled out new fresh covers |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | We use the AC year round and my boys don't mind it, but do tend to sleep under the blankets. If they have their own beds make sure there is a blanket topper that he can keep warm. Yorkies don't have the double coat like most dogs and can't take the heat or cold like dogs that have fur. Fur can keep a dog cooler or warmer depending on what it needs. The Yorkie has a single hair, more like a human.

| It's hard to say how your little girl would react to a new puppy. I would see if you could get some people to bring dogs in to see how she does. If she is not real accepting of other dogs it may take a while to get her to accept a new one. These babies can be very emotional little critters. Too bad you can't borrow a pup! |

YT 500 Club Member | I have the AC on in my apartment year round and I keep a fan blowing in my room. Honey is under the cover all the time even when I am hot but it hasnt been a problem for her as long as she has a blanket. I cant say much about adding another dog I want another one so bad but I am in college so I guess I will wait til Im done with school. |

| I agree with the others - air conditioning is fine but most Yorkies will like a blanket or t-shirt or something to keep them from getting too cold. I just wanted to say welcome to YT! If your baby is not great with other dogs, it might be a good idea to start socializing her - perhaps a training class or something. Get her used to being around other dogs and see if she changes. Then, if she seems to get more used to being around other pups, you could look for her a brother or sister. Perhaps take her along when looking and see if she connects to one

| Well, we can't always expect pups to be best buds - even if that is what we want and the entire reason we get a 2nd pup. As long as they aren't fighting and aggressive with each other, that is good. So, yes...if they can be in the same room (even without playing) and live in peace, that is a good thing
