| Again, thanks for all your answers. Yes, fortunately, it is illegal here in Denmark to cut dogs' tails, Or at least on most breeds ![]() When I google Morkie, I do not think that he looks like any of the pictures. Calypso - Can we see a picture of your Morkie? How long can they develop their color? Can he really be lighter / more golden over time? I'll tell if I choose to bring him into the family ![]() We already have a Bichon Frise / Yorkshire terrier mix who would love a friend. |

| She is incredibly beautiful, and what a beautiful color! She is one of the darkest yorkies I've seen. I've just got one more picture of the boy, this picture is much better than the others, but his coat is cut short: http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/8126/yorkie5.jpg |

| He is so cute I don't know how you could resist him. Doesn't he have papers? Is that why you ask if he is a Yorkie? I know there is a type of Yorkie that has white in them. I don't know much about them but he could possibly carry the gene for that by the looks of him. Do you know anything about his background? If he was going to change color he would have shown signs of doing so by now. His roots would be a different color. At his age he should stay pretty much the color you see now. |

| He looks like a yorkie to me but no matter what he is, he is 100% adorable!! I bet if his ears were taped, they would stand up all the way, they just need a little help at first. The darker coloring is common, not as common as the blue/silver but still common. I have 2 that are darker. If he is 10 months old I would say he is going to stay that color plus his roots are still dark so I don't think his color will change.

| He has no pedigree. Seller has some papire that says which kennel he came from. The images I have already uploaded, should be his parents, and thats all i know. The reason I wanted your opinion, was because the seller could of course be lying about who his parents were, and on the first pictures I got, He did not look like a yorkie. If all goes according to plan, I will pick up the little guy tomorrow ![]() There have been a few things to think about, among other things, my current dog weighs 6.5 kg (14 pounds), and the little boy weighs only 2.2 kg (5 pounds), and he is 12 months now, so i dont think he will get any bigger, do you? I do not know if the weight difference will be a problem, but my current dog is very calm and most of the time bery careful, so I think it will be okay |

| Your Bichon mix is really cute. I'll bet they will be good friends in no time. The Yorkie might get a little bigger, but probably not much. Good luck, and have fun.

| He looks like a Yorkie to me. Even if he is a mix who cares, he is so cute. Is that a Yorkie; how Big do they get ? We see this question or some variation of it almost daily. AKC has a standardthat describes in detail what the ideal Yorkie should look like. But, evenserious breeders of champion show dogs, do not get perfect standard Yorkiesevery time. Some faults are very subtle, and only someone who studied what tolook for, would notice and call it a fault. (Like one white toe nail or anincorrect gait). Other off standard things like a fuzzy coat, floppy ears, orweighing 20 pounds most people would notice. Some one may wonder why your dogdidn't look like the ones they saw in a book or on TV. Some people might ask(rudely some times) "Is that a Yorkie ? Wow, how big do they get ?"Remember most people have a very limited knowledge about Yorkies. They arecurious and want to know, why. In my 35 years of working with Yorkies, I have seen many sizes from a tiny 21/2 pound adult to a large 19 pound fellow. There are many coat differencestoo. Some have flowing silky tresses, others do not. Some coats have colormutations that can make their fur, reddish, gray, golden and even parti colored. When I teach about Yorkie differences I often use human examples. I say, peoplethink of beautiful___________ (movie star name) is she your idea of a real 100%perfect woman? She is 5' 10" weighs 119 pounds, has a flawless complexion, perfect teeth, and glorious hair. I will see nodding all over. Then I say, Nowlook at me. I am 5' 4", 130 pounds or so, grey hair, glasses and not soperfect skin or teeth. I am 100 % real woman, just like your favorite moviestar ! Every one laughs. But, it is so true. The only absolute way to know if a Yorkie is 100% pure bred is by doing DNAtesting with a good lab. But, you can always be sure they are 100% dog evenwhen they act like a spoiled child. If your dog is a pet, it truly shouldn't worry you, if your dog is not showperfect in appearance. He or she will still charm you with their Yorkiecharisma. Beauty and size are far less important than health. No matter what beproud of your dog and gently educate others when they ask.

| If they are asking a lot of money for a dog with no papers then you have good reason to be questioning if the pup is purebred. Hopefully, they have put a reasonable price on the little cutie. As Teresa mentioned health would be your other issue. Hopefully you asked for vet records on him. Let us know how it goes. |
