Continue the tiny meals and don't worry too much about weight loss or reduced appetite. Spaying is a big surgery. If she vomits or doesn't drink any water, put a call into your vet. Watch her closely for hypoglycemia.

Update on Teeka......she had a rough night! Up twice to potty, very restless and uncomfortable. I fed her a little food & water with her pain medicine, this morning and she has kept it down. Tiny meals all day for this little one. She weighted 3.6 lbs before surgery. After more than a day of no food or water, she is so bony and has no tummy. I weighted her this morning and she lost 4 ounces! Any suggestions?

It won't take her long to be her old self and soon you will be worrying about her putting on too Much weight! Zachary was playing the second day after his neutering but with a little girl it will probably be a bit longer.

My vet is a old school country vet and he generally doesn't give pain Meds and all 6 of my kids plus the three that are now at Rainbow Bridge were done by him with no problems.

She will be fine in a few days!
