Yorkie Talker | Young Yorkie Does anyone know of a breeder who is willing to retire her dogs ? I'm looking to adopt 2 female yorkies, so they have compansion when we're not home. I've had 3 yorkies 2 of which passed of old age..My most recent yorkie LopeyLou died tragically 3 months ago.. I miss him so very much, especially our snuggle time. I would appreciate any leads possible. Thank you all. |

| I would look into a rescue. I often see rescues that have taken in a pair of Yorkies whose owner died or had to go to a nursing home. They want to keep bonded pairs together and it is sometimes harder to find a home for 2 instead of just one. |

| young yorkie I have a lead for you I think dog may be in upstate ny he is two years old weighs four or five pounds sweet but shy phone number is 1-845-298-0030 dont know how much she wants her name is janet but good luck on getting them to sell you their retired dogs they think you want them for free at least that is what they told me!The reason I dont want a puppy is because we are both in our fifties and dont want to raise a puppy all of my persians four of them are retired breeders(they were not free but reduced in price ) I did know the breeders as I used to breed persians it worked out great for me I got beautiful adult pedigree animals and did not have to go through raising a kitten already potty trained and beautiful personailties make sure when you contact breeders that you tell them you do not want them free |

| Welcome Italia I see you are from Bear DE....so am I. I live around the Lums Pond area. My little one came from a back yard breeder and was also retired. I snapped her up when was 7 years old. While she wasn't physically abused she was horribly neglected. She'll be 13 yrs in a few months and she is quite the diva now. Have you checked on Petsfinder? I found Brandi through a friend who did volunteers through the local animal shelter. Have you tried calling breeders and just asking them if they had any females ready for retiring? I know someone else who did this and she ended up with a male yorkie. |

Yorkie Talker | Thank you so much for the suggestion ! Please keep an eye of your precious little one, I don't live to far from Lums Pond... maybe 1/2 mile.. One evening, I let my little LopeyLou go potty, my other 2 dogs already went.. they weren't interested.. my husband was feeding my grandchildren whom we were babysitting... usually I also went out with Lopey.. however this night I didn't.. about 5 minutes or so went by and he didn't come to the sliding door.. I went out on the deck and Lopey was bleeding.. I couldn't believe the amount of blood.. we rushed him to the vet... but I knew he was already gone...his last act was wagging his tail.. like he was telling me its ok.. to leave me.. The vet examined Lopey.. he had no puncture wounds.. however the vet indicated that a bird of prey must have gotten a hold of him and when I came out it startled the bird and he dropped Lopey.. he had massive head trauma.. he was only 6 years young.. I still have nightmares of this night.. So please everyone don't let your precious babies out in the evening alone. My husband and I agreed to never let our new Yorkie go out alone.. they will be paper trained.. and only go outside when we're all outside. I never want anyone to experience the same heartache and trauma we did.. I would love to meet you ! |
