Senior Yorkie Talker | Pcs move to alaska My husband is active duty Army & we just got put on orders to move to Ft. Wainwright, Alaska this coming October. We're very excited about this move & I'm happy to say that it should be an adventure. My husband & I both spoil Jaxson & he's our baby boy. We chose to drive to Alaska even though it's a 65 hour drive just so Jax can stretch his legs, go potty, have more room on the backseat vs. being stuffed in a crate for a 27 hour flight sedated. I'm excited to see how he acts when he sees a moose or something besides a cow here in Texas. |

Sounds like quite the adventure. I think driving from Tx to Alaska would be a really great way to see and explore. I hope the Army gives you a nice block of travel time so you don't feel rushed. When october comes around, you will have to post your adventures!

| My mother and father were in Alaska back in 1949....daddy worked for Schlumberger....Momma was pregnant for me and she went into labor early...she jumped in the car and drove to her mother's home, from Fairbanks, Alaska to Beaumont. Texas, alone, so "their child would be born in Texas! My mother was FEARLESS! I actually have the pistol she threw in the glovebox for the trip, in case she had to "shoot a moose that wouldnt get out of the road"! Can you just imagine shooting a moose with a 38 cal. pistol? Thank God HE moved all His moose out of mommas way! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 02-23-2013 at 11:29 PM. |
