| ![]() Reigns room is 64 by 64 and the pad is I think 24 by 24. The standard size pad.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() I think disposables are a lot smaller and that's what I used at first, so I used several. Now I use the large 36 inch washables, because I have two.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() I doubt is you use the door much, lol, won't you just lean over and pick him up? I think also once he learns he can get out through the door, he might do everything in his power to open the door. We had a gate with a door and Joey was a non-stop scratcher of gate, once he learned it had a door. I suppose in you mind, your picturing opening the gate and having him walk back in? He will walk out, but never in!

I plan on NEVER taking him out from the top. I am trying to act like there is no way out from there. So the door way is the only way in and out. Until he learns otherwise. But not from me! ![]()

| ![]() I started to get the bigger size, but I didn't want to make the whole floor peeable. I want him to move from the laminate to the pad.

![]() I agree, this way he may learn to seek out the pad.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() It really depends on the dog, I saw Joey's grandmother at a family reunion, (his family) and as old as she was, she was an extreme jumper and they said they could never keep her contained, but he’s not as bad. He squeezed his way out of the x-pen we made out of PVC pipe, until we put screening between the bars. The screening material might work for the top too. It’s sold at home improvement stores and it’s that flexible cloth type of screening that you use as sun screens to keep summer sun out of your house. You can see through it and also sew it, maybe sew some Velcro to it you could attach it if needed.

| ![]() Riley had this open x-pen. He never tried to climb out. I also only used the door to take him in and out... I had his bedding on one side and his litter box with peepee pads on The other side. He would insist in not using the pad but would whine for md to let him out and use the pad I had in the other room. In THD middle of the night I would lean over let him out... He would go use the pad them come running back in. He was only in it for about 8 - 9 months. Then had full run of the place... ProSelect Suite Retreat Pet Pens | PetEdge.com The other thing I did was buy one of the plastic water bottle things from Petco that secure to one of the walls... That way he had as much water as he wanted without stepping in it or it getting dirty. It was Something close to this: Pet Supplies - Pet Products - Pet Food | Petco.com |

| ![]() I use the soft sided foldable kind most of the time when I travel and at home she likes for me to put it up in the guest room so she can play in it. She is not destructive however so it is not a problem in that area. I like that the top and door zip on and are very stable.

| ![]() How do you train your yorkie to get used to their expen or crate? I have a big expen (its shaped like an octagon) for Titus to play in so I can do chores around the house but he barks and whines all the time hes in it. So when he stops his barking for a breather i take him out and he follows me everywhere. I'm just worried that he might relieve himself on the floor since hes still not potty trained yet. I play with him when I can/ or have him on the couch with me and I make sure he goes out to pee after his meal and every hour after. And when its time for bed and I put him in his crate (is big enough for him to turn around and sleep since I know if its too big then he might relieve himself in it) he barks and whines too.
