It really depends on the dog, I saw Joey's grandmother at a family reunion, (his family) and as old as she was, she was an extreme jumper and they said they could never keep her contained, but he’s not as bad. He squeezed his way out of the x-pen we made out of PVC pipe, until we put screening between the bars. The screening material might work for the top too. It’s sold at home improvement stores and it’s that flexible cloth type of screening that you use as sun screens to keep summer sun out of your house. You can see through it and also sew it, maybe sew some Velcro to it you could attach it if needed.
