| I wonder where all of the growth charts came from? Why so many different ones and why so many inaccurate; there isn't a single accurate chart or accurate at a certain time, like 5-6 months? People feed their dogs in varies ways, I can see why it wouldn't be the same for one family to another, even with children, but their are average growth charts for humans. |

| If the implication is that the larger yorkies are "fat," this is simply not usually the case. My boy is 10.5lbs and there's not an ounce of fat on him. He's a picky eater and doesn't usually even eat the recommended amount for his size. We have to coax him to make sure he's getting all the proper nutrients. |

Too thin is okay I guess?? Too "wide" is not. What makes you think a 9 pound yorkie has to be overweight?

| I have seen some very "fat" 5lb yorkies lol. Its not what they weigh its in their weight for their bone structure. Laddy used to be a skinny one before he got fixed at 3.9 lbs and we free feed. Now at 4.8 he is perfect and when to skinny his little back even had that roach back look. I am loving the extra weight on him myself . When we went to get my Sister-in-laws pup the breeder had one of the fattest little yorkies I have ever seen. Not sure what it weighed but probably should of been 3 or 4lbs and was at probably 5 to 6. Its little tummy almost looked pregnant and due any day and it wasn't lol.

| It's all in the genes. Maybe the growth charts came from breeders with established lines that had a general idea of how their particular line matured. That is one of the few ways of predicting the adult size that is partially accurate. If a line has been closely line bred for several generations then they start to get some consistency to their line. An outcross can cause all that consistency to go out the window though. |
