About the Collapse Trachea, I dont know much about this and would like to learn..... can I ask how you knew that had happened and now that it has what do you have to watch for? will it ever be fixed or repaired on its own, what are the health issues that follow this?

She was having episodes of coughing and sometimes I thought it was reversed sneezing a few times but we went to the vet who thought she might have an upper respiratory infection so she was on antibiotics for a week or two and I called back after it did not appear she was getting any better so we went back and to rule out anything in her chest they did an xray in the xray it looked like her trachea was smaller and in one section she said it could have been a shadow or collapsing trachea so she examined her and she coughed when a certain part of her throat was pushed/rubbed. So she went on a medicine for the irritation and it got better and sense then she has been fine with just small issues but its a mild case it can get worse. In much worse cases the dogs can't even leave the house because they get so upset and stressed it makes them go into an episode where they can't breath. My vet described it as when you are sucking very hard on a milk shake and nothing comes up and the straw collapses that is what the trachea does. Right now there is no cure but there is a surgery that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't work. The best thing for dogs who have it is to keep cool and unstressed as well as there weight down.
