So....You STILL want a Tiny Yorkie ?
I would take one in a heartbeat to be honest, If some one was to come up to me with a 1- 2-3 lb Yorkie and say here, Heck yeah I would take it and I think a lot of people would. I was handed a 1 lb Yorkie many years a go and It had many health problems not to mention its back had been crushed. I had her for seven years and would do it all over again .She was in no pain until the end,,,,, But we gave her 7 years that noone else was willing to do. and she was a sweet heart. So to this question yes I would still want a tiny Yorkie. Theres a lot of people who ask this same question and if you notice they to have very small Yorkies, And dont get me wrong I do think there is a lot more care for these little ones and a lot more risk. And do I think tiny Yorkies are for everyone? NO..........Would I breed for tinys? NO. would I breed a female under 5 lbs? NO...... Would I take in a Tiny? Oh yeah
I have seen a lot of different sites that ask this same question. But yet they went out and spent top dollar for their Tiny Yorkie. I have seen many breeders that wont sell a puppy to someone that works and will not be home 24/7 with their puppy , but yet thay are not home 24/7. I have heard a lot of people say people with small children should not own Yorkies. To that I would have to say it all depends on the owners and the kids. some kids are very good with small pets but yet still need someone to watch them when they do handle them at all times. and yet theres others that have not been taught how to handle a small pet. So I dont understand this. I had small children around my first tiny Yorkie and they was taught how to handle such a small dog. But yet the small children from the people I got got the Yorkie from is the reason its back was crushed. BUt I do understand some kids just dont know and would end up hurting them not on purpose but just by dragging it around like a toy. But not all. So on that I would have to meet with the people buying the puppy and the kids. So theres a lot of things I would say yes to for one person and No to for another. Hope I dont make anyone mad. But this is how I feel.

I agree, your post was a good one, with many good points.. Doesn't everyone love the tinies!! My girls are bigger and all three of mine are wonderful. Even though Bell is the apple of my eye,(my first yorkie) you can't help to just love the little guy.. Everyone who enters my house picks Petey up and and snuggles with him.. You just can't help it.. Tinies are adorable and will always have that puppy look..

I agree with everything you said, Yorkieshadow!
I also agree that Yorkies should not be purposely bred for tinies, but... it happens. I would rather that someone who is education about and who loves the breed adopt a tiny, than someone who simply wants the smallest dog possible. Unfortunately, many Yorkie lovers would not adopt tinies, and so they are left in homes where they are not properly cared for.
If I ever saw a tiny in need of a home where he or she would get the proper love and attention, I would bring him/her home. I would probably be a little nervous to post that I owned such a tiny Yorkie, but.. SOMEONE has to.
Many people would not be willing to pay extremely high medical bills, but most Yorkie lovers would. Except, Yorkie lovers are the exact people who are expected to know better than to but a tiny. Sigh. It is sort of a lose-lose situation. Tinies shouldn't be bred in the first place- but they are. I hope that no one takes this post the wrong way, this is just my opinion, and I don't mean to say that yours is wrong.

I don't know much about breeding, but common sense tells these people who purposely breed for tinies, that breeding a female dog, under 5 pounds, isn't healthy or safe. They are just to tiny, there bodies cannot handle it. But people are sick, and people are greedy.I do not think there is anything wrong with owning a "tiny", I just think that people need to realize the risks that come along with it.I right now am in the process of looking for a "tiny" yorkie,and the boy I'm highly considering getting will be about 2.5 pounds fully grown max(if even), but I don't work, or have any children, or any dogs over 10 pounds, and live literally around the corner from our family vet. But even with all of these factors, there are no guarentee's for the pup's saftey or health. So i am being VERY cautious and taking my time.

You sound like the kind of person that SHOULD be giving a precious tiny a home. Good luck!

You do sound like a good candidate for a tiny but I would also add, have the resources ($$$) to do whatever it takes if they become ill. Of course this would be true also for a normal size Yorkie. Too many times people believe buying is the most expense part of owning a Yorkie and as many of us know that is just the beginning if one of these little ones get sick.

I might add, I would also like to see statistic's/research on these little, little ones on their health and longevity. I understand the passion on YT about breeding tinies but I would also like to know what happens to these little ones as they go through their life.

They call me Smiley cause I'm always smilling and showing my teeth, I'm very happy to live in such a wonderful place and great people to take care of me I guess you could say it's a dog's life, but what a way to live. I'm the smallest yorkie on the block and soon to be mother for the first time, wouldn't you love to have a pup to be just like me.

i find it VERY interesting that the breeder advertises in the local newspaper publications in SF and LA, but not in their local area of Baton Rouge. gotta wonder....

have you paid attention that each female or male has a number? Like #189 or 200+. What does it mean? Do they have so many dogs?

It's so sad that it happens, but it's always good to repost something like this every once in awhile and make more people aware. Everytime someone asks me where I got my Bounce or if I know of any breeders or that they want a tiny baby, I go into my SMALL BABIES ARE BAD speech. lol I feel that it's my duty to let them know that anything too small is harmful anf not worth it to them or the poor baby.

I think I would regretfully decline taking a tiny Yorkie. I know they are prone to health problems and I don't think we should take on the financial obligation right now. I'd prefer to see the hypothetical tiny go to someone who would feel comfortable about taking it to the vet at the first flicker of a hint of a health problem. I would feel like I had to wait until I was sure there was really a problem and it sounds like with the really little guys, by then it's sometimes too late.

First, Omichka I think the numbers are probably the puppy number, so if it says 202TF , it means that is number 202 (yes that is probably the 202 puppy delivered there) and the T is probably for Teacup and the F for Female!!

I'm not understand how anyone can breed a 2LB dog, I will never understand that. What really gets me is the first puppy for sale is 2.2 lbs at 12 weeks old. All of the females are barely over 3LBS, This one will be bigger then that!! I think they are just showing their small bitches in their website..
