| Pet Insurance Hey everyone! I was just wondering how many of you have pet insurance and if you think it's a good idea? If so ~ who do you go through for your pet insurance? I was looking at Trupanion and it looks pretty good but wanna do all my research before deciding on one. Thanks! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I have PetPlan for 2 of my 3, and I really like it. As they age though, that's when you have to weigh whether it's more effective to just have a savings account. The younger the dog though, the greater benefit insurance is...usually, I should say. The exception would be like...let's say you had an older dog on ins and his premiums were rather high, but you kept ins anyway; then, he needed cataract surgery-- well, that's 5k to get both eyes done. In that type of case, then ins would likely pay off, despite the high premiums for an older dog. Hope that made sense.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I have Trupanion for Taycie since she was 5 months old. Truly has been a blessing for us. They have covered everything. No questions asked. Taycie was sick in October and was hospitalized, had a feeding tube placement, and exploratory surgery. Her total was 4800. They payed 90%. Her medications are all covered. Trupanion also offers reimbursement through your bank account as well. So now I don't even wait for a check. They deposit the money directly to me. Pet insurance is wonderful for us!
