| Im not talking anymore.. Im not sure why, but each time I run in to petsmart I see at least 2 people with a yorkie... Today, there were 3 Chorkies up for adoption, so I stopped and chatted with the woman, and then down the food isle, there was a lady with a yorkie puppy. So just being nice (plus my kids wanted to pet it), I went and spoke to her. Me: aww, how adorable, how old is he (blue collar) Her: Hes 8 weeks. Me: oh, did you just get him? Hes really tiny! Her: no, we own his mother and father and just wanted to take him out today. Me: oh cool, are you a breeder? I have a biewer yorkie at home Her: his dad is a biewer parti (), and his mom is an AKC standard. He is a teacup. WTH. Literally how the convo went. First, you just technically made a MUTT. Second, if you own a biewer, doesnt mean its a parti yorkie. Third, since she owns 2 of them shouldnt she know there is NO SUCH THING AS TEACUPS?!?!?!? Thats it...Im not talking to anyone else at the pet stores. If I happen to bring my dog (which isnt usually unless hes there for a groom) then I will gladly explain the difference to people. Oh, and since the pup was 8 weeks old...shouldnt she have a harness on him and not put him on the floor? I saw that later too..shame shame shame.

| LOL I can't talk to people... I just smile smile and joke about the size, depending on how big he/she is compared to Zeus since he's usually the smaller. "Look, someone your size!" if it's bigger. I'm not the best people person when I have a firm belief in something...

| Before I had Joey (and came to this site) I would have believed anything that anyone told me. After I got Carley I did TONS of research on labs...and same with Joey. I mean I have had dogs all my life, my dad is a groomer and my mom a vet forever...so I know pets. But any Jo-schmo can get a dog and know nothing about it...and cause potential harm!?!?!

| It's true...and so sad. I don't think being a pet owner is a "right", it's a privilege. I wish people would get a pet because of their knowledge, not because it's cool, cute, or an accessory size.

| I totally got Joey for his cuteness , and I knew that no matter what, I could and WOULD train him to be what I want. He isnt a little dog with a big personality that gets away with everything. He is smart, knows what right and wrong, and is great with kids because I made him like that.

| LOL That was a factor, not an absolute reason. I think all Yorkie owners get Yorkies as that for one reason! The thing with terriers is that they ARE smart and they can be tough to train, but they ARE trainable. I just hate to see these babies given up because they bark too much or pee in the house

| LOLOL! That's too funny. Defiant... Zeus still barks when I give his cue but maybe only about 3 or 4 more after...he used to not stop it at all and go on and on. Not perfect yet but a lot better

| Im not sure what it is...and Im hoping its not from him still being a "man" but when he starts barking or something is alarming him he doesnt stop. He will walk around the house for at least 10 minutes or longer just low growling and barking. Even if its just the wind outside, but not a noise we usually hears...he gets going. Carley just looks at him like hes crazy and flops back down.

| A parti yorkie and a biewer's litter can be registered as a biewer under their registry apparently. A lot if european Biewer breedees are getting AKC partis to improve their line, however American Biewer breeders for the most oart are extremely against this. I was shocked about the registry allowance too. A teacup- so this breeder takes 8 week old runt away from her dam to get exposed to germs etc and of at all places a let store...nice!

The issue became known just recently and apparently due to consistency in the original 'control' group of a breeder who submitted. Another breeder has stepped up to help provide a better control group and again sheer volume brought the issue to light.
