| Waiting To Adopt . . .Soooo Aggravating! I put in an application in the Summer of 2012 with our local humane society to adopt a yorkie if one comes in. My application was approved and I have just been patiently waiting . . .This weekend, a 7 month old 1/2 yorkie, 1/2 schnauzer comes in. I didn't get a call about him at all, but saw him on FB and PetFinder. I immediately emailed them and sit here waiting for a reply. It said all inquiries about him must be submitted by email so they can send out an application and set up a meet and greet. I'm kind of disappointed that there wasn't some kind of data base for those who were already approved for adoption, and for those waiting for a specific breed, even though he's half. So I don't know what my chances are with this little guy . . .I'm sooo disappointed! I haven't even gotten a reply back yet.

| I was thinking I'd try that later today and leave a message, they are usually just cleaning and feeding on Mon & Tues and don't answer the phone. I don't want to seem overzealous or anything.

| Ok, I just did it . . . I hope I hear back . . .this little guy is just so precious! And the best part is he'll have a great home with a yorkie brother and sister and he'll totally be spoiled all day since my husband is retired and living the life of luxury . . .while I go off to work . .

| Wish you were on the west coast. Last night we got 5 yorkies, 2 s**tz tzu's(sp) and 1 maltese from another rescue who had gotten them from a puppy mill. Most in rough shape but with time will be adoptable. They could really use a foster home who can help get them socialized. |

| I am very much afraid I'd have 'wobbled' over to the Humane Society IN PERSON to see that baby if I was interested in him...but that's me! I know that volunteers at HS's don't have a lot of time, but in person they'd have no choice but to see me. Did you, by any chance, check into becoming a 'foster parent' for the HS? You might have a better chance of getting that call...no guarantees...in this case at 7 months old, he is adoptable already. (My fosters never went back...lol) I am looking forward to your updates...I hope you get him.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I am the same way. Sorry to say patience is not one of my virtues I would just go over. They have to talk to you and you get to see him. Good luck

| Fostering is different at the Humane Society than a 'rescue'...or at least, that's how it was here when we started doing it in the '90's. I am not sure how prevalent 'rescues' were at the time, though. Fostering doesn't have to mean you take every baby offered. It does mean you can choose to take one too young for adoption. At a point, we couldn't take more fosters (babies)...our decision...because we had our hands...and house...full with babies of local ferals. But, the babies we took in to foster, only went back so we could sign the papers to adopt. We are horrible at giving up a fur baby! Good luck...I can hardly wait to hear how it turns out.

| That would be my problem with fostering I would never be able to let them leave after they came lol. Wishing you the best at adopting this little one.
