| What is a yorkie puppy cut? Can anyone tell me how long that would be and what that essentially looks like? Thanks all...(oh and happy belated New Year to all!) |

| About 1 inch long, same length all over, looks just like a Yorkie puppy.

| Hello from Texas. I agree. I just keep cutting hair until Tibbe looks puppish with very short hair on his ears, leg, tail, body except the mustache. I keep his mustache and don't cut it off but shorten it a bit.

| 1 inch seems so short... I think Boo is at 2 and a bit atm. My daughter feels he needs a cut but my mother feels that his legs are too long for a yorkie and that if I grew his hair he'd look better. I think he looks adorable no matter what. Not sure what to do... |

| I am not a groomer so I don't know what a groomer's puppy cut is but I probably leave Tibbe at 2 - 3 inches on his body as his hair curls a bit and looks shorter. Just cut them to your liking and if it's too short, it will grow, or too long, you can clip off the longer part.

| To a groomer, a puppy cut just means "one length all over" and you determine the length. Of you do decide to take him for a hair cut, be specific as to how long you want his hair and what you'd like his face and ears to look like. Personally, I love the longer hair on yorkies. But, I also think some of the shorter cuts are cute too.

| And what's all this about "rounded or pointed ears" and a "mustache"?? I also have the best photos of my babies in my phone...can I upload them off of facebook to this site? Cus I have no pics of my dogs on this computer and that's why I haven't uploaded any... |

| When I think of puppy cut, I think of this: I get Jackson really short, I get his body shaved down, but keep the face rounded.

| Thanks I think I got the idea now...except for the whole controversy on pointed or rounded ears and the mustache....doesn't the hair on his face have to be long to sport a "stache"? |

Senior Yorkie Talker | We have his ears tipped in a puppy cut. They always look huge. Haha! And his nose hairs were trimmed, although he had somewhat of a stache. You can also grow the nose hairs out I think in a puppy cut. Last edited by Lucyana1129; 01-22-2013 at 07:44 AM. |
