| YT 1000 Club Member | We ALL know the feeling, and waiting is not uncommon around here. Most of us do business with reliable Breeders, and being put on a waiting list, is common place. My longest wait was for several months, that being for My Female Becca. My Breeder only lets his pair couple maybe once a year, and I have to keep in close touch with them, when I want another. HA, squeaky wheel gets the grease...right !

				 | I am so excited for you!! It seems you have sincerely done all the research and reading and investigating, and MORE research and reading and studying.....THAT is the way to do this right! Congratulations on your new baby! As far as going to the breeders home, if you have done the investigating and research on the breeder, and you feel comfortable with your breeder, you can pick that baby up at the airport. I have met several owners at the airport and we have gone over everything at the airport. When there is a trust between the breeder with the owner, as well as the other way around, it will work fine. Hopefully, your breeder is just as concerned with you and what she sees when she meets YOU.....shared trust...vital. |

				 | Thanks so much everyone! I am still super excited. I have been picking up little things here and there and it's so much fun! Picking out little things, wondering if this toy is 'fun'. It's really quite comical. I tell any and everyone who is willing to listen (and even if they don't want to) about him. I do have pictures, but you all will have to wait . Trust me this hurts me more than it hurts you . Ha! I have a name as well, but I'm not disclosing yet! It's something I have to get used to because people refer to him by name and it just takes a second to correlate the two. This is just an amazing experience and I am so happy that I can share this with all of you. To think... if I hadn't lost my job, this wouldn't be happening. This could not have happened at a better time in my life.

				 | Well, it's all still under discussion here. Breeder says we can pick up at 8 weeks. We scheduled for 9 weeks so my DH can come along. Reading posts here I realize that 12 weeks is better for the pup and probably for us too. I'm just concerned that if she's feeding Puppy Chow is it better to pick her up at 9 weeks so we can get her introduced to better food sooner. I know you don't want to change their food too soon after they come to their forever home but a couple of weeks could make a big difference in their lives, I would think. I plan on going out to visit, when I'm over this darn cold and thought that I could even bring some of the better food and ask the breeder to start to introduce it there then plan to pick her up at 12 weeks. I just don't know what the best thing is to do.

				 | Thank you so very much! I have been worrying about this since I first discovered 12 weeks was better. That would make us picking her up March 1st. We are all ok with that. I will be letting the breeder know the next time I visit.

				 | Maybe you could share the name of the breeder here...even by pm to some of the breeders on here and they could tell you more. I think going to the house is great..but at that point are you able to walk away? Just do your research! And then some more! I am happy for you.

I haven't even started puppy proofing the house yet. There will be tons of stuff to do so I think I will start by making a list of things I need to do. LOL
