| Hmm I would never tell a person to lie but ummm let's just say you pay $114 to take a test and maybe answer questions that might make you appear to have aneixty from flying or crowds of people or small spaces like airplanes and well leaving your babies in cargo is depressing hmmmm http://www.cptas.com/cgi-bin/product.cgi?id=100917001

I can only tell you our experience. When we got orders to Germany, I had my very first Yorkie at that time, and I was flying on my hubby's orders. My Spencer did have to fly in cargo, but it was a non stop flight from where I got on the until we landed in Frankfurt. My Spencer did very well, but I was a nervous wreck. Then when my hubby was stationed in Korea, he brought a Rescue Yorkie back with him on leave, she flew in the cabin with him and she even sat in the seat next to him and the flight attendant gave her chicken to eat. Now keep in mind this was several years ago and it was a Non Stop flight as well from Korea to the US.

| I know the web site said no pets in cabin but when speaking to a rep at United Airlines they said for a small dog you can purchase a ticket for them to be in the cabin. If it was me alone I would fight it, but with an infant baby and two dogs and one a little larger I am not sure if she has any other choice because I don't know how she would manage all that even if allowed. Is anyone else from your base flying with you or are you going it alone. If alone I really think you only have two choices, cargo or leave your pets. A pretty crappy choice but unless you had lots of time on your hands to start taking his up the chain of command I think the best thing is to work on ways to make it easier for your pups to manage the flight. did you know that United has a special department that you can talk to about sending your pets via cargo, they have people set up for layovers to take the dog out and give it water and they also told me the owner can as well, but that they will need to go back through the security check points. So I guess if it was me I would be on the phone with that department and perhaps if possible go down to the airport ahead of times to check some of this out. Then you will need to make sure that you can find out exactly where to go when your flight lands and have a contact name and so forth, since you have your baby this will be harder, but hopefully you have a stroller to use. Also have a back up plan if you can't make it because the flight was delayed and your layover is shorter, and that they have a cell number for you and tht it works in Japan. Also like I said get tranq or sleeping pills for the dogs, but you MUST try them out as soon as you get them during the day so you can see your dogs reaction. This suggestion of course is dependent on if your vet says your dogs are healthy enough to take them. do you have your flights booked, do you mind me asking when you will be traveling?

| Before I was born (40 years ago) my parents were stationed in England with the Air Force. They had aquired 2 yorkies while living there and when they came back to the U.S. the pups had to fly cargo. Everyone was ok even though my mother tells me she was a nervous wreck the entire time. I hope everything goes well for you and your family!
