| Kennel cage Warning!! Quote:
Go here to see pictures http://www.kennelsafety.com/ And go here to read about more accidents. http://www.all-creatures.org/aip/nl-...8-warning.html Judge for yourself! It would be terrible to think one is doing the best for their dog to come home and find it dead. And from the very thing you "thought" would keep him safe. I am only bringing this up because these crates are "inexpensive" and are sold at discount stores and supermarkets! Other brands of kennel crates are perfectly safe to use! In addition....I think I saw a picture of this crate being used by someone on this forum last night! That is another reason I am posting this warning! | |

| Thank you for the warning. "Forwarned is forarmed" as they say. Being informed is why a lot of us read and post on YT. |

| I had this exact crate for a larger, 55 pound Chow mix. I never had any problems with it, but it was much larger. When my puppy died from heart problems over the summer, I gave the crate to someone else. I'm sending a link to the person who took it, just to let them know. |

| cages I have tried many types over the years...always get a heavy metal. The lid should have side and front clamps. If they do not have side clamps, the dog can push its head through and become trapped. I have never had a lid come open or any accident in a Central Metal pen. They have are very secure. |

| If you have a good crate but still have concerns, go to a farm store or camping supply and get metal clasps or clamps. I use them no matter what the crate is if I have, say, a mom who is still with her babies. I clamp the lid with the clips that Pat described and still use the clamps as a back-up. I have chills thinking about an accident with a crate.. |
