| ![]() Honestly, I find that description a little vague (and she told me that too). I mean, pretty much NO chew that lasts longer than 2 minutes will be able for you to bend it and indent it with your finger. Even the CET chews, which I believe they sell in their office, are not capable of that. When I asked her about bully sticks, she was like "yeah, they should be okay" but I'm not even sure she knew what they were? Because you definitely can't indent them or bend them, LOL. The only thing I remember her really warning me about were antlers, and she made a comment about nylabones too, and that both of them have caused some tooth breakage that she's seen. And this is a strictly dental office - so they know about vet dentistry!

| ![]() If you do decide to get her some bully sticks try to get her the Best Bully Brand. I have tried several other brands and they were just too soft. She could actually eat them and that is not the idea of a good chew. The dog should be able to chew for hours and not get very far on the stick. I think some companies process them to be soft so the owners will have to keep buying them more often. I get Gracie (5) regular thickness 12" Best Bully sticks on Ebay for $15.78. That is more than enough for 2 months for her. They are hard enough that she cannot bite any off or chew them too fast. Since your girl is a little bigger you may want to get the thick size at 12" or more. Best Bully does have a website but the shipping is more expensive there. They also sell them on Amazon. For $15.78 you can at least give it a try and see what you think. You can buy them individually on their website if you just want one but the shipping is still a lot. |

| ![]() Even if they aren't its not worth the risk to me those things are way way to hard and if a vet dentist who only deals with teeth everyday says there bad I highly think they are bad.

| ![]() An uncooked bone (depending on what kind) can help clean teeth. As they chew into the marrow of then bone it does clean the teeth and the calcium and other nutrients are good for the dog. Cooked bones are too prone to splinter and cause injuries to the throat, stomach or intestines. |

Warning though, one time I tried a lamb bone - the big femur bone. Thank goodness I stayed in the room. I think it was 5-10 minutes later Magic had broken the bone up ![]() ![]() I like the bison bones - one of those keeps Magic engaged for about 5 hours. The bison bones are too big for Razzle - I use the small knuckle sized beef bone for him. I have tried the nubby toys designed for dental care - but they just are not rugged enough. They only last maybe an hour.... And then you got to go around and find all the little bits of the rubber. Those were the only toys that they are allowed to chew on - all other toys are for find and retreive and rewards for obedience. For teething I have had very good luck with the hard key rings, they have different sized keys on it. They come in a range of sizes too ![]() I was going to try the deer antlers but reading this, and also seeing the sharp pointed end .... I don't think so now.
