| Will we ever sleep again? It appears our new wake up time is between 3:30 and 4 am. Generally speaking, we go to bed between 9 and 9:30 pm. When Wallee first arrived, he would sleep till 5 am which was Ok as we are early risers. Of course in the summer before it started getting dark we took a walk after supper. As I mentioned before Wallee does the bulk of his eating at night as we have never been able to get him to eat in the morning. Well we also have 4 cats and anyone who has cats will understand they are active in the night and since we have one who is obese they are on controlled feeding. Of course this makes them wake us for food often at these times. When Wallee hears them up, he also wakes and I have to let him out to poo. Now that it's cold outside he comes back in refreshed like someone who has just washed their face in cold water. Couple that with the cats wanting to run, him wanting to chase them and bark and a Tennant sleeping downstairs and now I am pouring coffee down my throat trying to stay awake and keep everyone quiet. Not such a big problem now as I am unemployed, however I do need to get back to work and will probably find myself doing the 1.5 hour commute each way every day into the city as that's where the jobs are. Yikes. And he is a busy bee all day long. I swear I got more sleep when my kids were babies. Any ideas on how to get this routine back to a more acceptable one? Btw Wallee sleeps in his crate in my room and won't even go back to sleep if I try taking him back to bed with me. Come on "daylight". |

| So true... I had to take my dh for his check up out of town, so my dd stayed with the dogs. She was so happy when I got back, she said she could not sleep and her back hurt because she couldn't move aRound the bed due to the dogs lol

| It does get better as he gets older. If you can't walk him before bed, I have found that 30 minutes or so of vigorous play before bed does wonders. Chase, fetch, tug-o-war, whatever works for you. Huey will get so wound up that he gets "the zoomies" and runs in laps around the living area like a madman. He sleeps much better after expending that energy. Otherwise, he will stand on my chest and drop toys on my head instead of sleeping! He still wakes me up about 1 1/2 hours before my alarm goes off, but usually goes back to sleep easily after pottying so I can get that last nap in before work.

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | I hope it gets better for you Cindy. I'm up at 2:50am...on the road into the city by 3:30am...my three pick their head up, look at me like 'are you serious!' and go right back to sleep....even Jersey the 6mth old! She used to get up thinking it was play time...I do not have time to play at 3am! I gots to get to work!!! I ignored her for the most part, if she persisted, I would take her out to potty and right back in her crate...we are not playing! She got the hang of it pretty quick....I'm in bed same as you at around 930, Mark is the night owl, so he takes them out for their last run at around midnight...this works for us...try tiring him out before bed time...mine race around in the backyard, by the time they come back in, they are ready for bed and usually sleep til 9 or so....

| Sleep till 9???Haha I can't remember the last time I slept till that time. And I don't even work. Unfortunately the older you get the less you sleep. It seems impossible to wear this guy out in the cold. Ron usually goes to bed even earlier than me. If Wallee gets too wound up he barks. Can't let that happen when Ron is trying to get to sleep. |

| Ok we had company today and he never napped all afternoon. He has been out and gone to poo. (I got him some Now food yesterday and he loves it enough to even eat this morning). He is totally passed out now so here's hoping. |
