| I am sorry it did not work out but I am sure if you had got him he would have adapted just fine. I got my first yorkie, Dixie, when she was 7 months old. She was so attached to her previous owner that it took her a couple of weeks to really bond with us. After that she became my little shadow and the love of my life. Dixie lived to be over 16 years old and I still really miss her. Also, over the years I have got other older dogs and they all adapted just fine. Good luck on your search.

| I went to see quite a few litters before we found Ziva, we were meant to take her sister but after seeing Z in action we couldn't resist! We bought along a small bed and toy and left them there so she would come home with her mothers scent. The breeder said Ziva would not let any of the other puppies near it, it was actually our scent that we bought to her! She came home a few days later and never looked back! |

| I agree that a 5 month old pup should adjust within a week or so and that is normal for most pups but if it was not a good match for you then keep looking. It doesn't hurt to look around and make sure you have the pup that you know is right. |

| My Bogie was 6 months old when we adopted him...never had the first issue with him adjusting. Congrats on your new baby
