| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yeah. If you adopted the seven month old puppy I would get her microchipped and have something written out in contract. I have experience with a group of people that I know, an older couple, and they adopted a Scottish terrier from a person that did EXACTLY what these people are doing to you (changing the mind and then changing it again!). The older couple got really attached to the pictures, but then the people changed their mind. A couple weeks later they called back and said "It is really not working out, you can have her". So the older couple took her home and fell absolutely in love with her. Three months later, the women who originally owned the dog called back and BEGGED for her baby back. The older couple decided to give the dog back (for reasons that made sense, even though they didn't want to).... Well ... guess what? Three months later... They got another call. The women called back and said "I'm so sorry. We just can't keep her anymore. Will you please take her back?" That is the only problem with adopting a dog from people that are so indecisive. You will probably keep hearing from them for awhile. And sometimes it will probably be them asking for the dog back. So if you do get her make sure that there is no way they could ever legally take her back from you (like you have already decided to do with microchipping).... Honestly, that would be the only reason that I would go with the puppy. I wouldn't be able to handle such an indecisive family. Of course, I know that you will pick the dog that will be best suited to your family... the one that your gut is telling you to get! I know that whatever dog you get will make you very happy. I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in about that. |

| Trust me I thank everybody for the help, my brain tumor causes me to have bad panic attacks and after getting her text yesterday all the thinking just set me off to the deep end, yes I know something that simple should not effect me and be that major of a thing but sadly it works that way with me. The 7 month old is a doll, plus housebroken, big enough already to play with Guinness since since he is a wild ruff 12lb, granted I know nothing of her breeding and she is ACA, the family knows NOTHING of terriers and is trying to try her like they did their German Shepard and have no clue why it is not working out, both husband and wife work full time, and raise their 2 grand kids. Now the puppy... I am starting to get an odd feeling like maybe the AKC were fact and why are they letting the puppies go at 8 weeks, also the dad was locked in one of the large dog fences in the yard they said because they were afraid he would hurt the puppies but still outside and they have bear in that area, and my recipt really does not look professional granted they said this was her 3rd litter and she was getting fixed after this... I really do not know... Blah

| Alisha, I'm sorry the lady did this to you. Is there a guarantee that she won't change her mind again? If you know she won't change her mind again, I think you should take that 7 month little girl. I'm so sorry all of this is messing with your panic attacks. And I know you are on info overload from all of us putting in our suggestions, but here is a brief reason why I think you shoud take the 7 month old... I think it's what you really want. From reading all that you've written, I think your heart wants the 7 month old. Ask for your deposit back...can't hurt to ask. Praying for your peace of mind and that the decision will come to you soon.

| I agree, I would go with the 7 month old and do what is advised - microchip and immediately take her in to a vet and get your name on some paperwork. Do you know someone who is a notary public? If so, take them with you and get a contract written up and have it notarized. Definitely ask for your deposit back but also ask around and see if anyone is interested in a puppy. It'll be less of a sting for them if you back out but have a "replacement" so to speak.

The pup that you put a deposit on...they are letting the pup go at 8wks??!! Why so early? Hmmm if I read that right, I would pass on this pup...sorry hun, I know you are already in love, its sooooo hard. A lady/breeder I was in contact with called me and told me her three year old was retiring...already fixed, housebroken, teeth done, AND the price was right!!! Fiance of course said 'H*LL NO, THREE IS ENOUGH!' I'm like 'but...' Lol!! wonder what he would do if I just came home with her? think I would be divorced before I even got married! If you can get something that was legally binding that would make the dog yours no matter what, I would go with the 7mth old, as it looks like you had your heart set on her to begin with. Will you re-name her or keep her name as is...she really is a cutie. Personally I prefer an older puppy, gone through the 12wks thing three times already, really cant do it again! And the 7mth old is housebroken...bonus! Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!

| Yes she will be at my house at 7, 2 hours to go eeeccckkk lol Sadly I am the only notary I know lol The whole 8 week thing did bother me BUT I knew hubby would take her to the office to watch her closely and Guinness could be the teacher as far as biting and social so that was my only reason for letting it slide. Don't think I mentioned it yet but... When she texted yesterday she asked had I found Guinness a sister and I said well we found a puppy but its not old enough to leave mom so she replied can I bring Bella over tomorrow to let her and Guinness meet and see how they get along and she could come at 7.... So on one hand are you still trying to give her away OR are you just making some odd play date?? I did not reply at first so she texted three more times we could do 6:30 and then again she stated or 8.... So I am not really even sure of why she wants to bring her over so bad tonight. This whole thing is just odd!!!! And as soon as I got into work I already had an email making sure we were still on for tonight.

| Heck if she just wants a play date then tell me that and I will take them to the doggy park since Guinness has a pass.
