| It does take a lot of time to potty train. Your baby is young so it is going to take time |

| Just keep being consistent and patient. Go out side with her RIGHT when she wakes up and also about 15 or 20 mins after she eats. If she won't pee or poop out at first, get her to move around and play/run...that will probably get those bowels moving and she will have to go. Stay out there until she does go (may take a while so plan extra time). When she pees, give lots of praise and say "good girl! Pee outside!" and same for poop. This is what I did with all of my dogs. My yorkie has been harder to housebreak (which I hear is normal). I work during the day so we compromise. She's pee pad trained and outside trained..when we are not home, she uses her pads (but as a note - she won't go pee and poop on the same pad for some reason..I lay one in front of the other and it works for me lol) Hang in there and be consistent and praise. You'll get it

| It takes time and consistency to appropriately potty train. I tried potty pads and they didn't work for us. We switched to crate training and it was a lifesaver. Look into it. I think it's the best option of potty training.

| I agree with MandiesMom about being consistent, especially with the wording you use. We used "potty" and "poo," and call me crazy, but I actually think it helped Tig a lot. We also used one kind of treat (very small size) that we would only give him for potty training. Both of those things seemed to help us!

| Suggestion for potty pads... Buy washable ones! They can't tear those up! Lol! There are a couple of members here who make them and they are also super cute. My guys are inside only potty trained. But, even my 4 year old gets a treat and lots of praise when I see him use his pad. It is all about being consistent ad praise!! Good luck!

| I have a really good frame for Gracie's potty pads. I bought it the day after I got her and she has never played with them since. It is the kind that has a frame that locks the pad down tight. If your puppy starts to play with the pad you need to tell her no and let her know that is not acceptable. Distract her with something else. If you want her to potty outside then you need to take her out on a leash to the same spot every time when you know she has to go. Teach her a word like "potty" or "go potty" and say it over and over while you stand in that one spot. When she goes reward her and take her directly inside. If you just let her go out and run around then she thinks it is play time and does not get the connection in her brain that she is supposed to be pottying. When she is inside you cannot let her out of your sight. Sometimes attaching her to you by a leash will help you to keep an eye on her and know when she has to go. Until she is totally trained you cannot let her out of your sight. I know it is a big job but if you are persistent and repetitive she will learn. Once your puppy learns that she can potty in the house when you are not looking you will have a much harder time having to retrain her. |

| Be patient it takes time to potty train and when you got her at 2 months old she was to young anyway so just keep at it and praise her when she goes in the right spot with a treat.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Where do you keep the potty pads??? If you're keeping potty pads in your bedroom I would highly suggest that you don't anymore. I don't know if it was just coincidence (doubt it) but when I kept potty pads in my bedroom my dogs learned that bedroom= place to potty. I don't use potty pads anymore, but when I did use them I made sure to keep them by the back door or in a laundry room. If you're not keeping them in your bedroom then I would suggest keeping the potty pads by the backdoor of your house. Try and take her there as consistently to go potty as you can. As everyone else has said, constancy is key! |

I am trying to train her with it and the wee wee pads holder, everytime she goes i say NO, BAD GIRL, and when she runs out of it I say " good girl" hehehe, i just dont know if she understands me, because my mom talks to her in portuguese ( i am brazilian) and i try to say it in english, maybe she gets a little confusedddd hahahahaha!!!!! She is doing good, she pees on her wee wee pads not she just has to learn to go do it outside and to not play with the wee wee pads hehe!!! |

| When they are young puppies you need those pads to be where ever you put the puppy. They can't even start to hold back urine until they are 16 weeks old so you need to have her by a pad at all times. Give her a treat when she uses the pad so she knows she is doing the right thing. A treat works in any language. I kept a pee pad in the bedroom when Gracie was a puppy because she slept with me. Then I only had to set her on the pad if she woke up at night. If you limit her activities when she is awake to just one room where the pad is near by you will have better success. Of course you need to be right there with her to help navigate her to the pad if needed. Once she gets to be about 5 months old you can slowly start cutting down on the pads. They do learn much faster when you reward them with a small tasty treat when they get it right. Don't scare her or yell at her if she plays with the pad because that will confused her. Just say no and remove her. Give her something else to play with. |
