| About Antler Chews Hello, I am brand new to this website. I was reading the questions people had about antlers and I felt I needed to respond. First, I want to say that I have a wholesale antler chew business and I am not trying to promote my own cause, just want to let folks know that antlers are really healthy and will not hurt your dog. In fact, they have all kinds of good stuff in them like calcium, magnesium, etc. They don't stink, splinter, chip, crack and they last a very long time in most cases. (months, maybe years) Sometimes older dogs shy away from them as they are hard, and just like us, if their teeth are weak, they will naturally stay away from chewing on things that hurt. Hope this answers your questions. I can barely keep up with the demand for these chews, so it makes me believe there are a lot of happy customers out there! |

| Welcome to YT. Do you have a yorkie? My two don't care for the antlers, probably because they aren't stinky They love the Himalayan Chews, though, they smell like parmesan cheese to me

YT 2000 Club Member | First Welcome to YT and thanks for the added info on deer antlers. I have one for Teeka and she likes to chew i, but only if I hold it for her. She is always trying to get to the inside of the antler. That must be the tasty part. She is a puppy that loves and needs to chew!

| Antlers crack teeth. Sorry, but that's what the vet dentist told me. I have used in the past but won't at this point.

| That's what I worry about they are so very hard. Callie got one once and would not chew on it and when my mom's yorkie came over and he chews and eats everything he didn't even like it. I'm glad they didn't it would have been terrible if it cracked there teeth.

I do not use, Bully sticks, Himalayan chews, Texas toothpicks.. NOTHING! My Vet said that bacteria can grow on them and cause your pup to be sick. Seemed like when Peanut have the BB he always had tummy issues!!

| While I have no vested interest in antlers, deer or elk, I was told about antlers from our holistic dog store here in town. This all came about when Bailey was in his 6 - 12 month age and he was chewing any and everything. He chewed tables, chairs, desks, molding, you name it. They recommended the antler. He loved it. They offer them in varying degrees of hardness and size. Bailey likes the softer ones about 4 - 5 inches in length. He's been through a dozen or more and loves them. I get them on ebay through a reliable seller. Never had an issue and Bailey is a happy camper. |
