Ok maybe I do not want another yorkie.... My little brat decided that since daddy is outside doing christmas lights and I am working on my ornaments that he is not getting his proper amount of attention so he just ate my new christmas door mat lol

I could not even punish him because the only reason I went to look at what he was doing was I kept hearing him mumbling like he does when he is ticked. Ryan came inside saw it and just pointed at him and said "bad yorkie bad bad yorkie" so he lowered his head and ran to put himself in timeout lol

LOL! Zeus just cowers and then comes up to me to say he's sorry. Luckily he hasn't don't anything THAT bad yet...

I hope it wasn't that much damage. Or, if it was it's easily replaceable.

Haven't read the whole thread but I saw that picture of a little dog you almost got. What a little darling it is!!! I hope you still have a chance someday to get her.

If not, there will be a Yorkie for you and Guiness one day. Keep touching base with local reputable breeders in your area, get to know them very well, and one day one of them may call you or vice versa and she just got a dog back or has a dog she's decided to move. Or you could try the shelters but I tried over a year with those to find a small nonshed dog and missed out on every single one. Came so close - I was always just one sign-up too late for the dog! Mostly rescues had claimed them and they always showed up to take them on the designated day. I came home sad so many days it finally wasn't worth it any more and I called Jilly's breeder. The result was my Tibbe so you just never know.

Well it seems if they considered letting her go once they may do it again.

Perhaps if you warm up to her, show her the beautiful things you got her, go for playdates, let her see how happy your baby is and how loving you are, she may realize your home IS the best thing for the baby girl

Yea I was kind of hoping I would come in to work to an email that she changed her mind again but no such luck... Yet
And the one I found on Craigslist I guess that lady does not know what to do with the ringing object in her house

I am lucky enough to have an insider at the shelter that has been watching for over a month for me but it appears Yorkie Rescue snatches them up in a heartbeat, I know I should not be this way because they all need furever homes BUT for $650 for a Yorkie that already has bad habits or has been beaten so it fears men or my god kids I just can not do it.

It's true. We paid $300 for Zeus. And he was 1 lb underweight, covered in fleas, completely food obsessive (the home had him for a month. There's no excuse for him to be underweight. She had 5 larger dogs and I can guarantee that he had to fight for his food.

And the fleas!! This is supposed to be a foster home in a rescue?

And then, come to find out, I have to pay about $2-3K for a surgery they could have done when they fixed him, which vets do all the time. And I say "they" because this rescue is owned by a vet's wife. Guess who does the operations/checkups/etc?

I was scared people would judge after I said that and trust me if I had the time and money to invest in rehabbing all of them I would but I am looking for a playmate for Guinness and if you were going to go buy your child a car are you going to get the brand new never wrecked always had oil in it one that cost LESS and has a warranty or are you going to get the wrecked gave bad oil some of the time no warranty used car that cost MORE????

LOL! If I wasn't a car fan I'd be all over you on that! "What! Dogs aren't CARS! You don't just dump after they get too old!" Totally joking!

But I agree. Everyone has different beliefs on where to get their babies from but I'm all for adopting. I don't care where from. But I also don't agree that people should bash breeders. Who are you to tell me what I want or do not want for my baby? Even as I am an advocate for adoption, it does have that unknown risk that can be relatively eliminated by a breeder that you know.

Can you not tell the shelter that you want to see the baby first before they call the rescue? To be honest, I'm completely ignorant on how that process works.
