| Yorkie or mix? Hi. My dog Aubie is around two years old. I got him from the Humane Society over a year ago. He was classified as a Yorkie. I was told he came from a breeder, but had no papers with birthdate, etc. My vet thinks he may be a Yorkie/Australian Terrier mix. When I got him, the hair on his back was black but now it's more silver and he's gone from 6 lbs. to just over 10 lbs. His most distinctive feature are his big ears, which has become a much disputed topic between some of my friends, some who want to claim he's part Pappillon! I think he's just a larger size Yorkie who has inherited his big ears. I've posted several pictures and would welcome all opinions. Thanks. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | He is simply adorable ! Truly. THOSE EARS! Cutest ears. He looks so yorkie to me; but I can see how his ears may indicate papillon bc those really do look papillon.

| He is beautiful, big ears and all. He looks like a yorkie that just does not meet AKC standards. He could be a small Silkie because of his big size and he could have a little papillon with those ears. Who cares, he has character! I personally think he is just an oversized yorkie with big ears and probably a perfect companion. |

| He's so adorable! Honestly I don't think those ears are SO big to think papillon. Plus papillons have much longer muzzles and small pointy noses. I can see small silky, or just a larger yorkie! I'm not familiar with Australian terriers though, so I can't comment there. He's look so sweet though!
