| Well, it depends on the parents. How big were they? And also, your baby's "frame" size when he grown. I also just read online that you can take their weight at 3 months and double it as a guideline for what they will likely weigh as an adult. That would make yours 7lbs, give or take, which is a nice weight in my opinion. Sounds about right to me. |

| I'm sure your puppy is fine. It sounds like she will be a bigger girl... More to love!

| Her size seems fine. The standards say 4-7 pounds for yorkies but I don't weigh what I should either! LOL |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | My Yorkshire terrier puppy only weighed three pounds at three months old, and he grew up to be a whopping twelve pound Yorkshire terrier. I'm very grateful for his size because like some people said there is more to love! Also he is more sturdy. There is nothing wrong with the size of your Yorkshire terrier. She may really only reach between 7-9 pounds, but then again she could be bigger. Either way I'm sure that she is precious no matter what her size =) My current Yorkshire terrier Dexter weighed four pounds at three months old (which would lead me to believe he would average out at around eight pounds), but he already weighs six pounds now! And he hasn't even reached his six month mark. I have a feeling he will be a big boy. I love him, though! |

| When I first set my heart on getting a Yorkie puppy I wanted a "toy" Yorkie but a friend of mine that works at a veterinary told me NOT NOT NOT to get one because those were more likely to get sick because they're more fragile. So I took her advise and got a regular one bit was still hopefully she'd only grow 5-6lbs full grown. It's not looking that way now but we already love her so much!! |

| trust me, even if she does get to be 7 - 9 lbs (which she probably will ) she will still be a very tiny girl.... |

| Sounds like you got a teapot instead of a teacup. Max was about 3 pounds when I got him at 14 weeks and Abby was about 2 pounds. Max is now 7 pounds and Abby is 5.5. Over the years, I have had 5 yorkies and Abby is my smallest. Jackie, who lived to be a young 17 years of age, was around 16 pounds. A teapot indeed. Big or small, all of my yorkies have been great! |

Just know there are more to yorkies than just the size. I'm sure your baby is absolutely wonderful no matter how big or small she ends up being. They sure know how to bring happiness in our lives. I hope this was helpful!

| The mom was 8lbs and the dad was 6-7lbs, so they weren't very small either. We'll just have to wait and see! At what age do they normally stop growing? |

I think he had his last growth spurt from 2 1/2-3 years old. He kinda stretched out a little. His old jammies don't fit like they use to.

| Breeders use size charts and a good breeder has their pairing down to a fine art. Genetics like to remind everyone a fine art isn't perfection. Fair to say bot my Elvis and scoobers came from bad breeders. At 5 months Scoobers was about 5 almost 6 pounds he was expected to not be more than 10 he ranges from 17 to 21 pounds now, he is a mix yorkie and mini Schnauzer-a schnorkie. Elvis came from a breeder who breeders for undersized yorkies and had done so breeding dogs under 5a pounds for several generations Elvis is just over 12 pounds. By most estimates yours is growing normally and will most likely be within the standard, however having an over standard yorkie is just more to love. Great teapot club here for oversized yorkies.

| Sophie Kate as 3.5 at 14 weeks, she is now 4 years old and weights approx 8 lbs (will go up and down .5lbs depending on the time of year). I know you think your baby is going to big and to you she will seem big until you go out and see other dogs and then you will realize how perfect she is. Don't worry about her weight unless she is overweight (your Vet will let you know).
