| deworming questions.. please help. Hi everyone. My new baby girl Lea just recently got her second set of shots and deworming 3 days ago. Last night I noticed what I deduced were dead tapeworms in her kennel along with her feces, thought nothing of that because that's what deworming does I assume. Just about 30 minutes ago, I was putting Lea into her kennel to sleep ( I do this because I have another yorkie named Toto who is my first baby, and he's a year and a half old so you probably can guess why I keep her safe) and I noticed she had worms actually Coming out of her anal glands so I put what I saw into a baggie so I can take it to a vet tomorrow morning. Now comes my questions for more experienced yorkie talkers. Is this normal after a deworming? Do they die immediately after leaving her body? Can my Toto get sick from playing with her?and if this is normal, how long should i expect this because it's pretty gross and my wife is pretty squeemish about this. | How long is this going to be happening? And can my Toto catch anything? Also they are still alive. Shouldn't they be dead? |

| She is expelling them and it will take a couple of days. They look alive but they are dying. Sometimes it is good to deworm all animals in the house at the same time especially if they get around the infected animals feces and other times its not needed. I would just watch for worms in the other dogs feces then you know to start a wormer on him. These wormers are really effective at getting rid of the worms you just have to let them work for a week or so to see the results

| Its been a few days now and there are still many pieces of tapeworms coming out. Every night I clean her crate and there seems to be around 15-20 pieces. I called my vet office and its always a tech saying it's normal but they give me differing lengths of time. My next appt isn't for another 3 weeks so I don't want to take here again and get dewormed if it will harm her to have soo much meds in here in a short period of time. Sorry if I'm annoying anyone with these questions, just really worried about my little princess. Also I've been checking my Totos poop every day and there send to be no worms in his *fingers crossed * |
