Anyone in the Melbourne area can check out this yorkie? Like you all know, anybody could have Bengi at this point, and a lot of Floridians go to Orlando at this time of the year. www.PetHarbor.com pet:BRVD.A592944 I called but the lady wasn't too helpful. They don't know his age, but she said he's about 6 pounds. I asked her to take more picture of him for me, and she said she's going to request that, but she cannot take them with her phone and send those to me :( |

Oh my that does look like him after going through a muddy wooded area!! hmm wonder if only one person answers there phone line or if maybe somebody tries again you can get a helpful person. |
I hope I'm not getting your hopes up too high but I just called the shelter and spoke to a lady who's name is Mary who has spent 4 days with this Yorkie. She put me on hold and went back to his cage and called to him by the name Bengi and he responded! She said she's not sure if he responded because of the name or the fact that she's been spending time with him. She said to call her directly at (330) 253-6624. Again, her name's Mary. |
I just called and the lady is SUPER rude and says ellie must come in there. She said there are applications for adoption. She also said that she couldn't call his name to him to see if he looked up..."he's been here since the 5th" as if that is a reason and a LONG time or something. What animal shelter is so hateful???? ETA - (not the same lady that Carla talked to) I am SOOOO happy you got someone helpful, Carla!!! Awesome!!!! (just read your post after I posted..sorry) |

Ellie, please get there before they adopt this dog out!!!!! This certainly looks like your Benji....dont let him slip thru your fingers! I would call the rescue and tell them to hold that dog until you can get there! Perhaps you can pay "room and board" for the dog, so they will be mre inclined to hold him....MAYBE SOMEBODY FROM THAT STUPID HOTEL COULD MAKE THE TRIP TO SEE IF THAT IS BENJI!!!!CALL THE TV STATION IN MELBOURNE AND TELL THEM YOU THINK THE RESCUE HAS FOUND YOUR DOG....YOU JUST NEED SOMEONE TO GET THERE A DOUBLE CHECK UNTIL YOU CAN GET THERE!!!!! |

Thank you everybody. I spoke with this other person Carla gave me and she was more helpful. She wasn't allowed to send me more pictures but I sent her mine and she will check if he looks like Bengi. But She also called me from her cellphone from the cage and I spoke to him, but he didn't react much. She said his ears were already up when she got there and then he kept looking at the phone. I would expect much more than that if that would be Bengi. But she will look at my pictures to compare the rest of the body, like the tail and also check the nose, cause it does looks darker in the picture they have posted. PS: That other lady WAS indeed totally nasty like other people said. I even cried asking for more help and she refused. She's supposedly a volunteer but wouldn't give me her name cause she didn't want to get "involved" in the issue. Such a heartless woman! |
I am about 1.5 hours away from Melbourne. The soonest I can get there is Saturday afternoon because I work 7pm to 7 am the next 2 nights. I would be willing to pick him up if it is Bengi in the event that you cannot make it to Melbourne before then. I PM'd you my phone number the other day...please use it if you need it :) Ellie, Did they tell you how this yorkie ended up there? A surrender, a "stray", etc? |

I live in Melbourne. What shelter is he at? If its the south brevard SACC on Eau Gallie Blvd, they can't just adopt him out if he's only been there 3 days. They're 'supposed' to give them at least 7 days for someone to step forward. My number is 321-720-4224. Call me and give me all the info and I can try to help you!! Thanks Angel |

Keep in mind that this dog is under "lost dogs" not "available dogs" according to their page which is very well kept up. I will call them tomorrow and go over there and take pics when I hear from the OP. praying its your baby!!! |
