That's exactly how it affected me. I did a "#Hache" Twitter search while the movie was showing and tweets started out all warm and fuzzy but as the end approaches and after the prof dies, they start to grow sad and then as everyone begins to see what's going on, the tone changes dramatically and many say "never again" and talk about how mad, sad, awful, etc. they are. I will never watch it again either. I just couldn't get his sad, sad life out of my mind after I saw the movie.

And I haven't seen Hachi yet....although I got to actually take a pic with the statue they have at The Hachiko Crossing!

I have to wonder why they even made the movie! I guess it was a book first wasn't it? I think it actually happened in another country. Japan I think. I guess they have different values concerning animals there but who on earth would think that people would find something like that entertaining? The Call of the Wild was quite a famous book that they made into a movie that had a terrible ending. I guess Disney made a lot of money ripping people's heart strings out. I remember watching Old Yeller as a child and being miserable for weeks afterward when I would think of it. My parents would not even let me watch the old Lassie TV shows because I would get so stressed about Lassie every week!

We're birds of a feather where dogs are concerned! There'll be no Hachi's in my city, not if I know about them.
