Hi everyone! I am brand new to this but I am loving reading about all of your babies on here. I have a 2 year old little guy. His name is Thai Starting on Tuesday morning he threw up bile first thing in the morning...shortly after waking up. He threw up Wednesday also and has every other day since. I have contacted 2 different vets and I have tried everything they have told me. I have tried feeding him later at night so he isn't waking up on an empty stomach. I have tried Pepcid before bed. I even tried chewable benadryl..thinking maybe his allergies were causing drainage in the morning that was upsetting his belly. After he throws up that one time right after waking up..he is normal for the most part. He still likes to go on his walks, eats lunch and dinner, and barks out the window I can always tell when he is going to throw up because he repetitively swallows in bed before we get up. I have read about bilious vomiting syndrome but if it were that I would think feeding him later at night would be doing the trick. My questions are...has anyone ever had their baby throwing up every morning or every other morning and ONLY in the morning? There is no food in it. Just always yellow or clear foamy liquid. I know it is common for them to throw up here and there due to them having such sensitive stomachs but everyday really worries me. No vet seems very concerned at this moment because it is only happening in the morning. I am more than concerned and wanting some answers:/ Tonight I am going to try to give him plain yogurt before bed and see what happens. I catch myself laying in bed and not sleeping at night because I'm listening for him swallowing. Its really stressing me out!!! HELP

Columbo used to throw up occasionally in the middle of the night and now and then during the day. It wasn't just in the morning like your baby, but it was usually only bile and foam. It never occurred to me that it was his food causing it until I just happened to change his food. A couple months after changing his food, I realized he wasn't throwing up anymore. He was either allergic to an ingredient in his old food or something in it just didn't agree with him. Except for the morning only part, it sounds just like Columbo.

He has been on science diet since the day we got him. So that is the only food he has ever ate. Since we've had him we have always put boiled chicken on his food because he won't eat the food alone. I would say only a teaspoon of chicken each feeding. The ONLY thing I haven't tried is switching his food. Do you think its possible that all of the sudden he can't handle his food? I just still don't see why it would only be happening in the morning even if it were the food. I would think he would be throwing up after feedings or at least more than just morning if that were the cause. We always fed him around noon and 7pm before this all started. He has never ate in morning. Now I feed him his late meal around 9:30pm and he is still throwing up anywhere from 6:30am to 10am. Depends when we get out of bed.

| Rosie did that for a while. She has a very sensitive tummy. The bile usually indicates an empty stomach. However, maybe it could be that he isn't tolerating his food? What kind are you feeding him?

Blazer did it a few times but he didn't really seem bothered by it and he was always fine right after it happened. I'm sorry that I'm a little confused but did you mean that he is throwing up EVERY morning or every other morning? If it is every other morning can you think of anything that was done differently the night before? What time is it happening? Always around the same time? Maybe get up earlier and get food in him before he pukes? Keep a snack for him to eat first thing in the morning before even getting up?

Sometimes it is the food that causes it but sometimes it is the lack of food that causes it. Try giving a small snack just before bedtime to see if it helps before changing food.

It honestly depends what time we get out of bed. I can always tell by 4am if he is going to throw up because he starts the swallowing thing in bed. Then whenever we actually get out of bed he goes to straight to the rug and throws up. It started Tuesday morning. He threw up Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Wednesday night I gave him Pepcid like the vet had suggested and Thursday morning he didn't puke! I thought for sure that had done the trick. So Thursday night I gave him Pepcid again and Friday morning he puked Friday night I tried the Benadryl and Saturday morning he didn't throw up. Last night I did Benadryl again and this morning at 6:30 he threw up. Uggggh. That was exhausting just to type. HAHA. It just makes me crazy not knowing how to fix it! I have not changed anything in his diet. Just wish I could figure it out

Have you guys ever tried yogurt before bed? I have some Plain non fat that I thought about trying tonight. Do you think I should crush up Pepcid and mix it in and see what happens?

| What do you feed him b4 bed? Is it half a meal, like his kibble, something filling? I have one that used to throw up bile in the morning & evening before his dinner. Sometimes he threw up his food after he just ate. I went to the vet several times for this issue & we couldn't figure out what the problem was & did numerous tests. It turned out to be allergies to pumpkin! I always gave them a Fruitable treat b4 bed & sometimes as a snack during the day...could it be that he's allergic to something in his food? I learned that dogs that have a food intolerance tends to throw up.

About 2 hours before bed I give him a 1/4 c of science diet for adult small breeds. I put about a teaspoon of boiled cut up chicken on food and a little bit of water and mix chicken in with his food. I have always had to do this or he refuses to eat. He'll go days if I just try dry kibbles. Do they all the sudden become allergic or sensitive to foods that they have been on for years? The only thing that confuses me is that when we feed him at noon...it doesn't seem to bother him at all the rest of the day and he is always ready for dinner. The only in morning thing is throwing the vets off. Especially because its happening almost every morning for a week straight. All the the sudden

Yes. There were a couple things that came back a little low but nothing alarming. His calcium was a little low and his total protein was also a little low. His total protein has always been a little low on previous blood panels. His kidneys and liver looked good though on blood work. I think I am going to go in tomorrow and have him tested for pancreatitis. Just want to rule it out. The vet thought there would be other symptoms with that though as well. Like loose stools and maybe thought he would be in pain. She also mentioned that she has never had only morning vomit with pancreatitis.
